I feel a tad sorry for Mange Tout. It’s rather small and sheepish compared to its gigantic neighbour Revival, and it just can’t offer quite as impressive an experience. Potentially it scores some points over Revival by having all that seating outside on Corn Street, so you can people-watch while eating your lunch. It’s definitely a nice place to have a little sit-down and a cup of coffee on a sunny day. It’s a friendly café, where you can get good, wholesome food at modest prices; the freshly assembled sandwiches are between £2 and £3. Have a look at Melanie M’s «Ode to Mange Tout» for plenty of reasons why this small, homely café is worth a shot.

Fortunately placed in the hub of Bristol’s lively shopping culture, Mange Tout provides a convenient coffee stop for reams of shoppers on a daily basis. The Italian coffee served here is pretty dreamy, and the café also boats a selection of teas and soft drinks. And if you’re feeling peckish, Mange Tout offers a variety of sandwiches, baguettes and breakfast rolls, in addition to a range of pastries and cakes. The café’s Danish Pastry is particularly scrumptious and is pretty hefty for its modest price of 90 pence. So if you happen to be shopping in the area and are in need of a smooth caffeine hit and a yummy slice of pastry, this is the place to frequent. And if it’s a sunny day, all the better: sit outside and admire the vibrant hustle and bustle of life on Corn Street.

There are so many different coffee and sandwich shops in Bristol nowadays you can really choose exactly what it is you’re after. Thus if you’re after a delicious and cheap yet sometimes slightly irritable sandwich than Mange Tout is for you. The range of baguettes and sarnies has to be one of the better selections in Bristol. Such fillers as hot pork and stuffing or bangers and mash are a league ahead of Tesco’s BLT or cheese and chive. The coffee here is pretty standard but it’s acceptably fresh and delicious. One can choose from either sitting inside or out depending on the weather, although it can get quite busy at lunch. A huge mirror the width of the restaurant doubles the place in two from the outside and from inside provides an excellent place to check your style!

I am not quite sure how I can top Melanie M’s ‘Ode to Mange Tout’! don’t think it’s possible! A nice little café diner located pretty bang smack between what would be classed as old town and new town. This place draws in alot of custom whenever the market is on, and has a nice steady trickle when it isn’t! So beautiful little dishes for snacking on, and having on the go, like a hot pork sandwich for £2.85 or soup to go for £1.95, it’s definately worth a check in. If your anything like me and your with some friends, you might also find it hard to avoid doing the Del Boy«Mange Tout, mange tout Rodney» impression in your best east london accent!

There are so many good places to fill yer gob in St Nicholas Market that I’m worried this unassuming little sandwich shop/coffee house just next door often gets overlooked. Here is my ode to Mange Tout(the café, not the legume): I love your greenness(in paint and environmentally so). I love your name. I love that you open for sweet, steaming caffeine goodness at 7am on a Monday morning, rivalling any Costa coffee nonsense. I love you houmous and roasted vegetable wraps which are humongous and spill out all over the place(not good if you’re on the move) I love your central location to Broadmead and the waterfront, I love the top class welcome from your beautiful staff. Poetry’s not my strong point, but you get the idea.
