This place rocks! Locally sourced pretty much everything(even a couple of the wines) and lovely setting. It’s fun and cosy, and if you get a seat in the window you can watch Bristol like a TV. So it’s ethical, delicious, well priced. Triple thumbs up! If you are looking for something casual with one or two of you, grab a seat in the front bar. Then you can slowly order a couple of tapas dishes at a time and enjoy the extremely fair priced wine. The house wines on the list are pretty damn drinkable and a carafe will set you back a tenner. The other wines on the list are also worth a try and are all under £20. Not a huge list but it suits the easy going nature of this place. This being said, I’d recommend starting with a cocktail such as their take on a negroni(it has Manzanilla in it giving it a touch less sweetness and a little more refreshing aniseed). Then have wine… The tapas menu changes around a bit as all foods are source fresh, local and in season but expect very excellent bread from Hart’s Bakery, and then things such as harissa, olives, merguez sausage with lentils, crumbed oysters, hummus with flat bread, fresh salads, cheese, etc. It’s tapas so share! If you like a product all of the producers are listed in their menu. Out the back there are bigger tables and more of a restaurant area so don’t be put off if the front area is packed because the back is pretty spacious. And if you don’t know what to order or how much to get ask one of the staff they are great. They do breakfast too…

Whether you come starving or just wanting a small bite, Poco will hit the spot. It has a cosy, welcoming ambiance, and the staff were very friendly. They pride themselves in using mostly locally sourced(90% in the UK!) and ethically sourced food, which I can definitely stand behind. There were four of us and we had a couple orders of pork belly, fried oysters, squash purée, falafel, sourdough toast, chorizo, affagatos, and pumpkin pie. All of the dishes were absolutely delicious. The pork belly seemed to be a favourite among the omnivores, and I really loved all the other dishes, especially the squash purée. We did have to wait for over an hour as we came at 8pm on a Saturday night, but we reckoned everywhere else(that’s good anyway) would be the same. We were able to have a seat and order some drinks before being called to our table in the small area in the back room. It is a bit tight, but it offers a very convivial element to the whole experience. I would love to try a few other places the next time I’m back in Bristol, but I wouldn’t refuse another chance to visit Poco again, or to see what they have in store in their London location!(Really glad for that!)

I’m a local and have been here a number of times in the last year. Like everyone says, the food is great, and very well priced. And they do an excellent flat white too. But make sure you’ve got time on your hands — every interaction I have there seems to take forever. They regularly forget dishes or drinks you’ve ordered and don’t seem to feel bad about it when you remind them. All in all, slightly bitters the otherwise excellent taste in your mouth.

Went here for tapas on our trip to Bristol. Loved everything we ordered. Staff were SUPER friendly and made great recommendations. The two old fashioneds that we ordered were spot on. GREATPORKBELLY. Will go again.

I was super excited to check out this place for a spot of lunch, as it’s a place I’ve heard many good things. I was there during the week on lunchtime with friends, it’s got this really lovely laid back cosy style, and was super friendly. I like the fact they have a massive blackboard wall, with lots of menu choices, from tapas to light bites, and have specials too. We headed to the back of the building which almost feels conservatory like. The whole menu looked mouthwatering, I opted for the Home Smoked Trout with cream cheese, scrambled egg and radish salad. All of the flavours really complemented each other, and the scrammed egg was the lightest and fluffiest I’ve ever tasted. It was an ample portion, and really set me up for the rest of the day. The other thing I should mention is price, you get high quality for a great price. My brunch was priced at £6.90. The perfect price for a lunch deal in my opinion. I shall most certainly be back, and would highly recommend this place.

My first time at Poco and I loved it. I used to pass it on the bus every day and think it looked super cosy and my sort of place and it delivered! Dimly lit to suit it’s ambiance, candals throughout and super chilled staff who are more than happy to explain the menu to you and recommend. What stuck out for me was the way in which the food was brought out to the table. Freshly made Tapas brought to you one at a time, creating a really sociable vibe, and no feeling of being rushed to get the next table in, a personal pet peeve of mine! We had a mixture of both meat and vegetarian dishes and they were equally as delishious. Will most definately be returning to make my way through the menu! X

This was my third visit to Poco for lunch — had the pork belly sandwich — really tasty chunks of pork belly with crispy skin with caramelised fennel and green salad on sourdough which appears to be baked on the premises. Have now had the sandwich on two occasions and it’s so delicious that I find it difficult to order anything else!

My friends who live here rate this place to be the best in Bristol. And it is! We came in a group of six so it was good being able to try lots of different dishes. I heard the menu changes, but our definite favorites are the cuttlefish, mackerel, and pork belly. Love the environment as well: cozy and intimate with an open kitchen where you can see the two chefs doing their thing. There’s also a nice range of cocktails so good to try this out when you’re waiting for your table.

Poco is my new favourite place! I can’t believe I lived in Stokes Croft for over a year, walked passed it at least twice a day and didn’t ever go. It’s SOGOOD! I met a friend there for a cup of tea one lunch time last week and instantly fell in love with it as soon as I walked in. The first thing you notice is its warm décor and ambiance; there is a really nice feel to the place. The staff were all behind the counter chopping vegetables, which, combined with the food cooking and tea/coffee, made a deliciously fresh smell in the air. Next to the counter were boxes of really colorful fresh fruit and vegetables. It was so nice to see fresh food being prepared in front of you, without being pretentious about it. The back wall makes up the menu and the theme here is tapas; lots of delicious tapas! I haven’t eaten the breakfast here but it looked great and the breakfast menu sounded amazing! The staff were lovely. Very welcoming and made my friend feel very comfortable with her baby. You can really feel the feel good, seasonal produce, local, great food vibe these guys are trying to pull off. They do it really well. This is the kind of place you’ll enjoy bringing friends to, because you know they’ll be telling people afterwards!

I stumbled across Poco on a rainy Sunday afternoon and it was just the perfect cosy place to warm up and eat some lovely food. Tapas are only served in the evening so I had something from their Brunch menu. I had Merguez sausages, scrambled eggs on toast with chillies and harissa. Not only did the food look incredible, it tasted great as well. You can taste the freshness and quality in the ingredients. The atmosphere was relaxed and perfect for a lazy coffee and brunch. I’d love to go back at night and sample their tapas menu!

Another outstanding Tapas Bar in Bristol. The atmosphere is lovely; contemporary yet warm and woody. The corner location is ideal and offers a great view of the bustling nearby streets. Put simply, I would say it has the nicest interior of any restaurant i’ve eaten at in the city. The Tapas, while a little expensive are delicious. The food on offer here is of the highest standard and expertise. The house wine is surprisingly good too. There are two areas of the restaurant and as i see it, two purposes to Pocos. There’s a beautiful area at the back if you want to stay for a meal, and there’s the bar area at the front if you want to stop by for a drink and few tapas before continuing a night out. It serves both equally well. If you’re looking for Tapas on this side of the city, you need not look any further. Hugely Recommended.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm mmm mm: sigh of food-related pleasure. Tucked away in one of Bristol’s quirkiest corners(quite literally, it’s on a corner) one can take refuge in Poco Café Bar safe in the knowledge that they are in good hands. Whether it’s a caffeinated pick-me-up that you’re after, a hearty stomach filler, a light bite, or even a hangover cure, I can vouch for the high quality you will receive. All four members of our little party were suitably impressed, and if anyone had been eavesdropping on our table, they would have heard frequent exclamations of pleasure along the following lines: «Oh you must try this…», «God this is delicious…», «Wow that looks good!» and«That was so tasty I want more!» So what’s the deal? What’s so good about it? Well I simply must start with the coffee, it is mouth-wateringly good. And I can be fussy about coffee(as can my companions) so it really is saying something. It comes served up in a comfortingly solid mug for those who might be feeling a bit ‘fragile’ — or if you would prefer a super strong coffee, a double strength version can is offered up in a chic little tumbler. PLUS they are amazing value — one tasty Americano only costs 150 pennies. Think of it as half the price, but double the taste of places like Starbucks & Co. The food is also something special. Even the bogstandard basics have little upgrades to make them even more wholesome. For example bread is replaced by sourdough, quinoa is available as well as rice, and even the baked beans are homemade! And if that’s not enough to tantalise your tastebuds, how does a sourdough sarnie with bacon, rocket and harissa sound… and that’s just the lunch menu! We ourselves, went for a late breakfast and I was able to enjoy a bowlful of fresh fruit, apple compote, yoghurt and granola(see photos) all just for £4. It was the most deliciously nutritious thing I’ve eaten in a long time. My friend on the othe rhand opted for the ‘Moorish Scramble’ and can confirm it lives up to its name, served up with lip-lickingly tasty slices of chorizo. Om nom nom indeed. What else? The setting is rather soothing. There’s quite a calming atmosphere about the place. And even though I wasn’t quite able to get there this early, it actually opens at 9am on weekdays which pleases me: one of my pet peeves is places that advertise breakfasts but then don’t actually open until 11am. Furthermore, it opens late Wednesday — Sunday to cater for dinner as well. It would appear that Poco is quite versatile and covers all areas from casual coffee to full-on dinner menu, and I’m willing to bet it does all of them with a flourish.
