Delicious curry, one of the best in Bristol. Had Chicken Tikka Masala and Lamb Jalfrezi which were really good. Must try when around !

I eat loads of spicy Indian food, take away and eat in, and both times I have visited this place I have been blown away by the food. Last visit in a group of near 20 drunk 20 something’s and they still managed to serve us quickly and efficiently. I had a dansak, and I have to say it’s the best one I have ever had and I eat a lot of dansak. Every curry had the option for extra spice if you so wish. The naans and popadoms with dips are excellent, the rice dishes could do with being a tad larger. I will be goin back again very soon. Pricing is pretty standard for a curry house, as is the selection of beers and wines. If u like curry, get here and get it in your face.

Located at the top of Gloucester Rd this place has slipped under my curry radar. God dam that silly radar I shall have to get it fixed, because this place is great. Inside it’s been very tastefully decorated and is definitely at the high end of curry house chic. I especially like the mirrored walls very handy for checking ones self out. There’s a decent booze selection as long as you like cobra or kingfisher, and the house red is pretty good. But we came here scoop curry and that’s all I was interested in. The popadoms and pickles arrived and were warmly greeted by all. The dips and popas were the best I think I’ve ever had ! And it got even better with the mains my chicken sag pathia was proper oral excitement! In fact I feel sad that I’m not chewing on it right now. The only tiny criticism i have and this whats stopping me from giving 5 is that my nan was cold. And I cant be having a chilly nan.

Excellent curry house at the top of Gloucester Road. I’ve been to the Raj Pavilions once before with my partner Alice and 2 of our friends and had an excellent meal. The service had also been great and the curry house was presented at a noticeably high standard. A larger group of us wanted to go out for a mid week curry and as we’d had such good food before, Alice suggested the Raj Pavilions. We booked a table for 15 of us. Sometimes having a larger group can compromise the standard of food and service at a restaurant, especially as we can be a lively bunch, but not here. Excellent service again and everyone was more than pleased with the food on offer. I asked the waiter to recommend me a dish and ended up with a Lamb Shank in a madras style curry gravy with mushroom rice. It was amazing! Everyone commented on how good the food was and also how it’s a little different. Maybe a little more contemporary than some curry houses. A fantastic restaurant that would be great for a birthday meal out with friends and proves to cater for larger groups. Not the cheapest of curry’s but well worth it. I can highly recommend an after curry pint at the Inn on the Green, which is a minutes walk from the restaurant.

I swayed between a 4 and 5 star after last nights meal — but it had to be a 5. Everything was brilliant! 10 of us went for a meal at Raj Pavilion last night and it was great from start to finish. I’ve driven passed Raj Pavillion so many time and always thought it looked good. But is one of those places which has always been a little out of the way, and somewhere I don’t tend to remember when I want a curry. But this was booked for me — and I was excited to finally check it out. In terms of curb appeal, They’ve got it bang on! The restaurant and branding look really nice and is really eye catching. It looks like a really nice place to eat! Inside is much the same; stylish with the typical Indian restaurant feel to it. We all had poppadoms and pickles. I love lime pickles and their tasted really fresh with a nice kick. The mango chutney was a bit runnier than normal, but I think I preferred it. It was easier to get off the spoon! For a main I had the Lamb Methi and shared a pilau rice and peshwari naan. The Lamb Methi was absolutely delicious. The sauce was really thick and dark and was nice and mild. The lamb was really nice. Probably not the best I’ve ever had, but it was really good — I’ve had A LOT worse! I do wish I’d have gone for a whole rice to myself. There was a lot of curry and half a rice didn’t really go very far. The peshwari naan on the other hand was more than adequate to share. I had a bottle of house white which was OK. Nothing great. But for around £11 is was a steal. The staff were great! As a table of 10 we were quite loud and it can’t be easy trying to dish out food to people that aren’t listening! But they had good banter and nobodies drinks were ever empty for long! This is definitely one of the best curry houses that i’ve been too in Bristol.

I’ve been driving past this restaurant for years and always thought it looked good, and now I know. The food was good, service was good and they could handle a large group of people. I’m not really an expert on curry due to my distinct wimpiness with spice but I had a Dopiaza and it was lovely. I did the classic fill myself up on poppadoms and naan bread but the meat in my curry was cooked to perfection. I would definitely go back.

Raj Pavillions is by far the best curry house in Bristol in my opinion. I have been here twice, once a year ago with a small group and last night when there was 20 of us. I have been raving about this place for a whole year but struggled to find a good time to go back until last night. We had popadoms with the usual pickles to start. And for main I had the Lamb Asadi, I have been thinking about it since my visit last year and I have to say it was just as good last night. Asadi is a dish with olives and Feta, which you might think isn’t your typical Indian dish but served in the Bhuna style sauce is incredible and works so well. We shared a mushroom rice(although we could probably of had a one each) and a Raj special Nan, it was all cooked to perfection. All for around £15 each, which is great value I think. The staff are really friendly and coped really well with our rowdy bunch, they were quick and efficient. The décor is clean and modern with an Indian flavour, I particularly love the mural of the Indian landscape across the back wall. To eat in, take away or delivery everyone should try the Raj Pavilions you won’t be disappointed.

First impressions was the location seemed abit out of the way and didnt expect it to be very busy inside. But they had every table full with a nice atmopshere. Ive heard this place was really good so looking forward to trying it out. We went here for a group meal and the there was about 20 of us… so i expected the service to be slow but they were really good. It didnt make a difference that it was a large the food still came out quick. Nothing was wrong. And everyone complementing their meals. I shared a mixed grill tandoori and it was really tasty. The nann bread were crispy which i really like compared to other curry houses nanns! The staff made checking to make sure our meals were ok. Good food & wine! Will be returning :)

Lovely food, great choice on the menu, reasonably priced and excellent service. I visit a few times a year and have never been disappointed. They also own the adjoining takeaway which is equally good.

The staff in here are quite banterous. The food was of an ok standard and reasonably priced. Particularly good after a few beverages in the gloucester arms. The samosas are really good. As is the tandoori chicken. If you live this end of glos rd worth a visit.
