When I first laid eyes on this place, I’ll admit that I assumed it would only sell extortionately priced organic cakes and wholemeal humus bread roles. But how wrong was I?! It may look like your average bohemian snack joint, but Snack Attack actually serves a more eclectic menu than you might imagine. Yes, the obligatory hearts ‘n flowers hippie food can be purchased here, but so can a good old fashioned bacon sandwich(for a modest £1.90 too!) And if you’re ravenous and in the area, the café also serves a scrumptious all day breakfast for a fiver. Lovely jubbly.

Snack Attack is commuter Heaven. With enough variety to keep the regulars coming, yet decent enough prices to hit the student market, Snack Attack has hit the jackpot. It does tend to get very busy around 7−9am and lunch time so best avoided if you are in a hurry, otherwise definitely worth a trip inside if you are feeling a little peckish. Food is A*, really good variety of snacks and full on lunches and they are all non greasy and non pricey. Bonus.

I actually really like this place. I’ve come here quite often when making my usual journey from Stokes Croft to Gloucester Road to find some new records in Rooted and the other music stores. It’s the perfect place to grab a quick snack, you see, and as all the ingredients are fresh and prepared in front of you, you know it’s going to do your stomach one hell of a lot more good than going to the generic and McDonald’s owned(a little known fact for ya) Subway down the road. The staff are particularly friendly and will do their utmost to put whatever you want in your sandwiches and baguettes. What’s more, this fine sandwich will cost around half the price of a Subway, too. Go head and treat yourself to a proper sandwich.

This sandwich shop is a little oddly placed along Cheltenham Road just up from town. I’ve walked past here a couple of times late evening and it’s still been open, which is a definite plus point. They offer a range of sandwiches made to order, and have a good amount of healthy options so as you can feel a little lighter in both the stomach and the wallet. Having said that, it’s not too expensive at all, and most of the items are in the region of £3-£4. The girl who served me was very friendly. They must cash in on walking traffic around here as I don’t suppose there’ll be a particular lunch rush in this area, nevertheless this is a pretty good place to grab a bite to eat on the move.
