Tasty Stop

Simply the most incredible value fry-​ups and roasts you’re likely to find anywhere in Bristol the former dishes up a plentiful serving of bacon, sausages, hash brown, black pudding, mushrooms, toast or fried bread, and fried or scrambled egg… all for only £5.50! So filling as well you won’t need to eat again for the rest of the day. The roasts lay-​on wholesome portions of roast beef, pork or chicken served with a healthy dollop of veg for £5.95 each! No compromise however is made on the quality of food. There’s a traditional ‘Brit-​caff’ feel here, yet one that attracts everyone from locals to students. They tend to leave the radiators off, so it does get rather nippy in colder weather. The staff however are friendly, and the laid-​back ambience and great food more than compensates. This is our regular Sunday brunch stop and shall not be replaced the best!

Enjoying a mild celebrity status among other diners, the tasty stop is a pretty good place to, well stop if you are after, well, something tasty!
Having featured in Skins (channel 4’s smash hit drama set in Bristol) I wonder if the custom increased because of this or because, quite frankley, everything is pretty damn good!
There was also a fish tank in here last time I came in which is a nice feature to look at as you enjoy a full english fry up!

Café’s are my little weekend treat for making it through the week and I tend to enjoy finding a new one each week where I can tuck into a Big Breakfast. I stopped off in Tasty Stop a few Saturdays ago when IO venturred to North Street to hook up with a friend who is a regular visitor to this place, he does live just over the road. I was served upa humongous breakfast — Sausages, Eggs, Beans, Tomatoes, Bacon, Mushrooms, Toast and a cup of tea — it was heavenly! If you find yourself around the North Street area a little peckish then shoot on in to Tasty Stop — you will not regret it!
