Eating out is what our lass and I do best and eating out shall never happen within the dour walls of this place again. I place many reviews on websites and they are always honest and impartial, this one shall be no different: — I would not take our dog to Balti Tower in case his ability to consume anything(alive or dead) is compromised and he suffers a violent rancid curry induced death. The one star is unfortunately unavoidable. This place is truly vile.

Its years since we have been to the Balti Towers and we wish that we hadn’t bothered. We were slightly surprised that the place was not heaving for a Saturday evening(at 9pm) but after the meal we think we know why. It started ok with the complimentary popadoms and pickles + the starters ok although nothing exceptional. However when it came to the main course we were very disappointed. I had ordered balti with chilli and garlic. I could barely taste the chillies and what green I could see was a pulverised mush. It had the appearance of a meal that had been prepared earlier, frozen and reheated(microwave?). The meat was chewy and the whole dish had a very fatty/greasy roast chicken/lamb taste. The rice was luke warm. The other meals were the same, even though we had all ordered different dishes. Until the place gets its act together and starts to serve fresh food then we will not be going again — we will be sticking to our regular curry house, which is excellent and where you can see the food being cooked. On a positive note the service was excellent, you can bring your own drinks, ambience was ok, prices reasonable and no sign of fighting(see other review below)!

We used to love this place but it seems to have gone right down hill in recent years. Firstly we went a few months ago and the water served with the meal was rank, it was obviously spoiled and nearly made me sick. Then half way through the meal two of the waiters started fighting!!! The food is usually very nice so we decided to forget about the bad experience and book it out for my 30th birthday. we offered to pay a £3 per head deposit for 25 people but the guy we spoke to on the phone said we didn’t need to because we had been going to the resteraunt for over 10 years, then 3 days before the meal a very rude guy called Ash who said he was the manager phoned up and demanded we take in a £6 ph deposit in cash the next morning. After telling him we couldn’t get over.(we live over an hour away) he told us to go and find somewhere else to have our meal… when I complained that he had basically ruined my birthday he told me to F*ck off. great service there. I don’t think this guy was the manager as he obviously didn’t care about the reputation of the place, but we will never eat there again and neither will the 25 guests who were all regulars in the place. what a shame.

I have to say first that the food from here is first rate BUT it’s just a bit to pricy in my mind. Don’t get me wrong the establishment looks the part when seated downstairs(upstairs is another story) and the staff are friendly. It’s just that you pay quite a lot in the price of the food for all of this. The only other draw back it that there’s no licensed bar BUT you can bring your own alcohol. Speed of Take-Away service is no better or worse than most busy take-away places.

Went to Balti Towers on the basis of the reports here. I was disappointed. Good points first — although the restaurant was busy the service was efficient. The complimentary pappdoms and water are welcome. The naan and the tarka dal were very good. The prices were reasonable. But the main course was another matter. Most items on the menu seem unique to the restaurant and contain both chicken and meat. In my opinion, chicken with a taste of lamb(?) fat does not make a great meal. I chose one of the Balti special options. The cauliflower in my dish had gone very soft, with the stalks collapsing into a goo. This suggested to me that the meal had been frozen and microwaved. The meat was fairly tough. The sauce was basically tasty though the overall hint of meat fat was not pleasant. The cool rice did not add to the experience. My conclusion — a well run restaurant whose food fails to justify the enthusiasm of the other contributers.

just outside the main town centre but close enough to stop off at on the way in or out of a night out. close to the railway station. One of the best curry places in Burton. Not licensed so you take your own drink which cuts down on price of bill. Satff are so helpful they even fetched us some beer from the pub on the corner, foods fab and their naan bread is to die for! Definately worth a try.

top quality food, i love this place i cant think of anywhere in burton i love to eat at more than this curry house, very good turn around of food but please dont ordr the family naan you will not have any room for ale, another great advantage is you need to get your refreshments from the devonshire arms which has some great bridge brewery ales, porter and quack are my favourites. order a four pinter and take it to the balt towers and enjoy… its like all your xmas’s come at once. yum yum. go on get to the balti towers you will not be dissapointed onl wen you have to leave.

Possibly the best curry I’ve ever had, the food is great the service is great. Just don’t order a family Naan each, or you’ll never get out of the place!
