Stayed here for a weekend for a bit of hiking and a spooky Halloween party; the story is that the place is haunted but I didn’t encounter the ghost that hangs out in the car park, even on Halloween night. The hostel is perfectly located so that you can jump right onto a number of hiking trails, and is right by a scenic stream. The building itself is attractive and they’ve divided up the space so that there is plenty of common space on the ground floor and a large TV lounge upstairs. There’s also an annex with additional rooms and another kitchen, as well as plenty of outdoor seating. Rooms typically had about 6 beds; the beds were kind of hard but I didn’t really notice after being exhausted from a day of hiking and a long night of partying. One odd thing was that they had a number of showers hidden behind fire doors that had no indication that you should enter. It was definitely better equipped/organised than a lot of hostels I’ve stayed at plus very clean. A great base for some local trekking, but like all hostels, not so good for those who are picky about sharing.
