I cant comment on the food as we did not eat here, but I must say the cedar tree has a small pleasant garden at the front of the building with nice seating which really catches the sun in the afternoon. Perfect for a nice cold Stella sitting by the lavender in the sunshine.

When I went here some months back I was suprised to see such a lovely done up place so dirty, the tables had been set for the next customers but were thick with sticky beer, and when I asked a member of staff to re wash it I was given a stinking look and it was still sticky when we got back with the slop The feed aka SLOP, the Vegetables were well what I can only say was overcooked, I dont know what was cauliflower or broccoli as it was more of a brown dark slush, there were no roast potatoes and the carrots were as hard as they are just picked up from the ground. The meat was dry. The only reason I am giving this 2 stars is because you can sit outside and have a glass of wine, but thats as long as the locals dont take up all the seats getting drunk.

Very good value for money food in a comfortable environment. I visited during the week and it wasn’t too busy but the level of service was very good. on the downside there were only 2 meats available on the carvery but as it was a Tuesday this could be forgiven!

The refurbishment of this fub is great — it has a really nice feel to it with wooden floors and leather furniture. I have only eaten the carvery with a group of work friends and the food was not of great quality. However, the food was cheap and the portion was generous. To be honest, I wouldnt visit again for the carvery but I would give the menu a try.

I was taken to The Cedar Tree a few weeks ago and was pleasantly surprised. It’s recently undergone extensive renovation and looks very clean and modern without feeling too clinical and still retains a nice cosy atmosphere. I plumped for a burger and my other half went for the lamb shank and we both struggled to finish. The portions were very generous, and the price was fairly reasonable for the quality. The menu is extensive and I would love to go back and sample more dishes. The Sunday carvery is meant to be one of their best assets but sadly I haven’t tried this yet — but am looking forward to doing so.
