The Van Gogh café is attached to the side of a church on Brixton road. You can have salads and hot food such as lasagne, fish pie for about £5. It’s decent enough. On myspace it calls itself a charity café. It definitely has a social purpose, and you feel pretty confident that £5 spent there does more good than £5 spent in Starbucks. There’s also wifi, and upstairs is fairly quiet, so you can sit and get some good work done. There’s a tiny but pleasant garden in the summer.
