I really enjoy CB2. It’s solid quality food in an ambience that’s really crisp that gives the feeling of a nice dinner that doesn’t need to break the bank. CB2 has a great, diverse menu with various price points that make it appropriate for groups but also for a nice date. I definitely recommend it and will go again.

CB2 used to be a favourite of my mother and I — their malteasers sundae was a real sweet treat and the atmosphere was one not found in Cambridge at the time, much more independent and ‘out of the box.’ However, it seems to have lost its way somewhat and I left feeling quite saddened after my last trip. I did, unfortunately, have a hangover during this visit, so only had a coke. However, the coffees my mum and friend had appeared to be far too strong, and the pastries — despite how tempting and unique they seemed at the counter — didn’t seem to be all that different from one another upon inspection. There were only a few other tables occupied, one of which seemed to be experience huge confusion regarding their breakfast order, with waiters coming out of the kitchen as if they were suddenly on fast forward. The music almost tipped me over the edge; far too loud, with a heavy bass, and obviously the choice of the staff as opposed to considering the gently, laid back atmosphere CB2 says it offers. Sad to see somewhere suddenly losing its way, but I suppose it happens.

Quirky and different, I really liked the layout. I didn’t eat, but several of my friends did and it looked good. I liked the layout and the spacious rooms. We were there for an event and we had probably 50 people. We reserved the upstairs and had a great time. The beer selection could be bigger, but everyone found something they were happy with. The library upstairs has so many books, and a few games and things. Easy to while away the hours with friends and beers.

Coffee is poor, but it’s Cambridge; Wifi is flaky, which is annoying; nice work space and convenient hours, which is rare and thus merits a passing score.

Service was rude when I went in. The waitresses messed up my order and had an air of get-out-of-here-because-it’s-late(it was an hour away from their listed closing time). Only saving grace is that it’s still open in the evening whereas many other places are closed, although with the impatient customer service, it didn’t really make me want to stay.

Food is pretty decent, coffee is only okay.

Busy place during lunchtime with an outside area near the crowdy street. Labeled as an ‘internet bistro’ — an indication for rather downscale quality — our expectations for this place werent too high. We were not very amused about the waiters badly handling of missing cutlery or presenting the bill even when reminded. Smoking breaks generally were more important than newly arrived guests. My lunchtime break is too short for the long waiting ’til the meals are served here. The taste of the orderd tomato pasta was far below our standard, this is definitely not the bistros speciality. Might be a good stopover place for having a drink.

The reviews for this place on here have been FAR too kind. I admit that we went at an awkward time(wanted to eat at 3pm), but even so — the waitress didn’t seem to understand our native English or to know what was actually on the menu. Food took ages despite the fact that they weren’t busy or understaffed… and wasn’t anything special. I could see this being a good local coffee place but for actual dining, I don’t think so.

I only went here a few times because it was on the other side of town from where I lived and went to classes but every time I went I loved it. Such a cool place and the food is fantastic. It’s in a great spot if you’re wanting to go to the cinema and not partake of the usual shopping centre food outlets. There’s music, books, internet, food, drink… actually speechless with how cool this spot is.

Nice and spacious, friendly service and good value hearty fare can all be found here. Personally, I’d say it’s best for brunch and lunch rather than dinner, but could just be me. The free wi-fi and powerpoints dotted around make it perfect for getting some work done whilst sipping on a coffee, or you can just while away the hours by pulling a book of the selves or enjoying the artwork displayed. The outdoor area is well-kept, but suffers from its proximity to the ever-busy East Road. Great sticky toffee pudding

Excellent Bistro. Good food/coffee etc during the day. Internet facilities. Good selection of books to read and board games too! Really nice atmosphere in the restaurant in the evening. Well worth a visit.

I sincerely enjoy this place, every time I go there! The coffee is gorgeous(cappuccino!!) and the food is well-priced, fresh and very good. The vegetarian breakfast(scrambled or fried egg, 4 slices of toast, mushrooms and grilled tomato) is huge and well-spiced. I can recommend any type of pasta and the mozzarrela and tomato salad. The paninis are very nice too. This is a good place for a cheap breakfast or lunch :)

This is a unique restaurant, and great if you want to enjoy a slightly different meal out. The restaurant is lined with bookshelves which are covered in books — many of them first editions. You are free to pick up and read the books at your leisure — although your date might not be impressed if you are reading a book for the whole meal! The menu has great variety — my particular favorites being the lamb burger and the sausage and mash. The owners and waiting staff are very friendly and attentive. And as it is a little further out of town you manage to escape the student culture and enjoy a sophisticated dinner in a friendly restaurant. The food is delicious, although the portions can be rather small if you have some hungry men with your party. It is all very reasonably priced. I enjoy eating here as it is just that bit different from most other places in Cambridge, and you will certainly remember your meal as a very enjoyable one.

CB2 is very easily missed, but worth a trip. In the day its a café bar which is inviting and seems to be where i go when i want to while away a few hours. the fare in the evening is pretty simple, but well executed and well priced. Best of all is atmosphere and the interesting events they seem to host here. Easy to miss out on these too, so pop next time you’re in the Grafton and see whats going on.

CB2 is a beautiful Italian restaurant, it was actually recommended to me by a friend of mine as nice place to spend your lunch hour because of the good lunch provided. The service was brilliant and I was well impressed by their drink menu, from French wine to Australian and Italian. They had a wide range of meal; wraps, rolls and even homemade meals such as burgers, lasagne and they also had a good selection of seafood and vegetarian. It was a good place for me, as I do not like the normal sandwich for lunch. One thing that attracted me the most was the local art display. It was nice to wander around after my meal and just fill me eyes with beautiful art. I enjoyed the food the most, it lived up to my expectation from what my friend had told me about it and the staffs were ever polite. They also have a wireless access, which was a bonus as I could check my mail during lunch after my meal. The general homely atmosphere was nice to have a quiet lunch.
