I probably won’t be coming back. The bruschetta wasn’t bad it was just overwhelmingly seasoned with strong ingredients, every bite was different and very salty. The Cajun chicken dish i ordered was the exact opposite, very flavorless the only taste coming from this dish was the undercooked raw onions. So hats off to whatever farmer grew the onions and a look of shame to the chef who prepared this meal. It may just be because I’m American but the service was also subpar, either the waiter didn’t like me or was just to busy wiping the empty table in front of me three times but my water glass never did get refilled and I saw the bar tender doing her hair in the mirror behind the bar.

Well its a chain restaurant so food is going to be basically the same wherever you go. This one is pretty new so it was clean and tidy compared to the other ones I’ve been to in Crawley and Chichester. I had the triple club sandwich which was great although a bit dry. Service was pretty speedy and all in all we were pretty happy with it

I’m reviewing this place as a first time visitor to Cambridge. From what I understand, Frankie & Benny’s is a well-known New York Italian restaurant chain throughout the UK. This restaurant on Newmarket Road is fairly new. The space is clean and interior is reminiscent of the booth seating in the U.S. If you look up, there are two bronze statues of whom I assume are Frankie and Benny watching over. Because I was staying somewhere nearby, I ate here twice in one day; for both breakfast and dinner. The value of breakfast is really good. Different plates were offered for relatively affordable prices £3.95-£6.95 e.g. full English breakfast, pancakes, Eggs Benedict. The three I mentioned are the plates we ordered(all were only £5 each). On the Eggs Benedict, you have a choice of meat. I would recommend the bacon! The dishes were decent, but I would skip the pancakes. The Sunrise cocktail I had was a nice pairing. Service wasn’t the best, and it wasn’t busy. We came back later that evening for dinner, and it was much busier. We had to wait a little before a table was ready, so we went to the bar and ordered drinks. When seated, I observed that a number of the larger round booths were empty because they weren’t being cleaned. Dirty dishes sat untouched the whole time we dined. I wondered why they didn’t want to seat people there. As for our food, we started with the Mac N Cheese(just penne pasta and cheese), which actually came out after our mains were served. We got the chicken wrap(good) and the massive calzone(okay but drenched in marinara sauce). For dessert we shared the strawberry shortcake sundae – that was the best tasting thing that day. My dining companion felt that the service was better, I didn’t notice a difference. If you’re looking for a place to dine with others, Frankie & Benny’s is a good place in a central location. The parking shouldn’t be an issue. If you want authentic American style food, I suppose it’s close enough. Personally, I would recommend getting breakfast rather than lunch or dinner here, because of the great value.
