A wonderful restaurant in Cambridge! The food comes as close to home cooked Indian food as possible. My usuals are the dhal soup, saag paneer and chapattis. The soup and saag paneer are excellent! The chapattis are ok. The service and overall ambience is pleasant.

We jokingly asked for«dodgy curry» and thankfully our client knew what we meant and recommended here. The four of us descended on the place and were treated to really a pretty nice meal. Our lamb vindaloo was very good, with a nice pleasant spice, good tender lamb, and a very fruity gravy, a little more so that I typically get, but still pretty good. The butter chicken wasn’t quite as flavorful as it sometimes is, but did have a pat of butter on top of the dish(hardly necessary, but why not) and the prawn disk we ordered had a similar nice dark rich gravy and lots of nice big prawns. They were shell on, which made for a bit of a mess when it came time to eat, but still very good. Our naan and papadum were also good, but… no mint corriander chutney! We probably should have asked, but it wasn’t provided with the papadum. Service was attentive. I will say that this got a little expensive, but I also think that Indian food tends to be that way by the time you’re done ordering all of the bread and rice and whatever else — individual entrees don’t seem that expensive, but it creeps up on you by the time you’re done. This is probably a very strong 3 — I’d definitely head back if given the chance.

Golden Curry is a solid choice for Indian food in Cambridge. The place is not much to look at, but the service is very friendly and the food is tasty. To start, we were given poppadoms with three dipping sauces: a sweet chutney, a hot chutney, and a chopped onion salad(if you’re American – it’s essentially a slaw). My boyfriend and I split a saag paneer(or «sag ponir») and a king prawn kurma. A friend also got the chicken balti. Everything we ate was delicious, including the side orders of warm peshwari and regular naan. The meal was very reasonably priced, with none of the dishes exceeding 10 quid. All in all, a good place to get your Indian food fix.

Food was relatively flavourful but I don’t know. I will have to try other Indian restaurant to be convinced that this is one of the best in Cambridge. For what I ordered: chicken saag was too oily and tikka masala way too sweet but tasty enough nonetheless.

Having lived in Birmingham for years I’m used to a good curry and went in search of a decent one when I moved to Cambridge. I was taken here by people at my new job and was very impressed by what was on offer. I had a very tasty lamb rogan. Staff were very attentive, helpful and friendly. Will certainly be back here to sample other curries in the near future!

If in Cambridge and in need of a curry, this is the place to go. Fast, good quality, and friendly — if you’re not after a bargain basement curry, then definitely look at the«specials» bit of the menu; achari chicken is to be recommended. Conveniently placed for a number of good pubs, too, although for maximum enjoyment, get the curry in early(it gets busy late doors).

Golden Curry is a comfortable and within-budget food experience! The«hot curries» are relatively mild(ok we all agreed not hot at all, but we’ll say mild to give the restaurant the benefit of the doubt), but very flavorful. The tandoori chicken is particularly savory and tender here, while the lamb kebabs are rather dry and salty. The green tablecloths are very 70s.

I think this is the best curry house in Cambridge. Try the Chicken Lababdah!

After trying a few places when we first moved to Cambridge, this has become our regular curry house and over the years has rarely, if ever, disappointed. This ticks all the boxes of what a curry house should be — decent food, excellent freshly made naans, friendly staff, those little rotating condiments containers with chutneys for poppadoms. Does exactly what it says on the tin.

This is my favorite currey house in Cambridge. Having lived a few streets away from this place for a period of 4 years, it did nothing for my waistline but a lot for my curry habit. Don’t expect some fancy ‘new indian’ style restaurant here, then again don’t expect some grotty post pub style joint either. Its well decorated and now the smoking bad is in place, full of clean air. Recently they did up the seating and tables(the old ones are now in the Kingston pub around the corner, complete with masala stains!) which makes it nice, but nothing too fancy. The food is great from here — takeaway is fast and plentiful but the real treat is the sit in. Poppadoms, onion bhaji, balti and 3 pints of kingfisher is all a man really needs in life and this is served up quickly and perfectly cooked. The only downside is that when its busy, the service can be a little slow, but generally I’ve been happy to nurse my indian lager and eye up other diners dishes.

This was one of our usualy haunts when we were all working and would come out of our infamous curry nights. The problem is when you haven’t had a few this isn’t as good as you remembered and some otehr places have far surpassed the golden curry for the key to indian food.

On mill road there is more than your fair share of cuury house so making a choice can be tricky, however situated perfectly halfway down the road on the bridge is the golden curry. This is everything you imagine a curry house to be, it has cheesy décor and kitch pictures and loud wall paper and dont mention the traditional music, but that all adds to charm. The food is the most important thing and thats great, very tasty and lots of choice and the price is really good at £4.50 for a madras and they offer student discount. Theres a good wine list and you can drink from cute little crystal glasses. The only downside is that they dont offer delivery but the service is fast so its worth just popping down there and having some great food.
