Breakfast Lovers — fantastic food. Visitors — ditch the hotel food and go here! Ingredients are all high quality and fresh. Mrs Jones herself is delightful and puts a lot of care into this place.

The only reason I knock this place down to 4 stars is because of the awful service. I simply got a scone and coffee and it came in a timely manner and was extremely delicious. My friend, however, ordered basic eggs and toast and it took over 25 minutes to arrive, it was quite comical how long we waited for such a basic dish. The ambiance of this place is adorable and I quite enjoyed sitting by the window on a sunny day and enjoyed watching the shoppers pass by on such beautiful cobblestone streets. Extremely charming!

(Prefacing this review with the fact that I have been living in France for about a month, and going to a restaurant in France is like trying to sleep with Megan Fox while being Michael Moore, so my perspective of the service here might be a tad skewed.) We didn’t research before we went. We didn’t read reviews or look at lists or select our itinerary. We just shopped until we were literally about to drop and said, okay, let’s go to the next place we find. I don’t know HOW it is possible that this is the next place we found. I must’ve done something right to deserve this. I NEVER get this lucky. EVER. This place is A-fricking-dorable. Very etsy meets hipster meets grandma… Except Betty White grandma, not your grandma. The menu had a lot to offer. A little on the expensive side($$), but the food was quality. EVERYTHING we ate was delicious. And we ate it ALL. I had a local, grass-fed burger, and it was incredible(except they don’t cook to temp). My sister had something about ploughman’s, which sounded too healthy to me, but actually turned out to be pretty good. Their homestyle fries(chips?) were IN-fricking-credible. There was also coleslaw on the side as a nice little surprise… It was so good that I ate it all before my sister could ask for a taste. My life has been reduced to bogarting coleslaw. The service here was shockingly good. We came in and seated ourselves and were instantly given menus and had our drink orders taken. The waitress was very nice(and honest). She told us right away the few items they were out of, and told me the burgers are not cooked to temp request. She answered our dumb questions, etc. They were very busy and slightly short-staffed, but it was barely noticeable. Although service and food are the most important things to me, the décor and ambiance really were perfect. I hope someday to find myself back here.

Stumbled upon this little gem on a day trip to Cantebury from France… Minimalist and lovely décor, very comfy and inviting environment. All we kept saying was how much we lucked out by randomly finding such a grat place, perfect location in town center. The menu was simple with homemade and fresh choices, hard to decide! My sister got a burger and I got a Ploughman’s platter, and they were both lovely, beautifully presented, fresh, delicious. Fair prices and friendly service, and very clean. Didn’t get to try any cakes, but they looked delish!
