Tucked away just off Ferry Road in between Asda and Morrisons, it’d be very easy to overlook Aldi, and this is a huge shame. I know many people are put off by the unfamiliar brands that Aldi sells, and I, too, am pretty reluctant to stray from what I know and trust, but a lot of Aldi’s food is really good, and if you like value food, Aldi is much tastier than other supermarkets’ own brands. I am a particular fan of the burger relish(which I wont buy anywhere else) and salt and vinegar potato twists. The bunches of flowers are also quite cute, and often feature bright coloured daisies that seem to last a ridiculously long time. Food aside, Aldi is a great place to find cheap kitchen equipment, seasonal things(their barbeque and other summer stuff was awesome) as well as all sorts of more unusual items designed to make life easier that you don’t really see everywhere else. Ferry Road Aldi isn’t as big as some Aldi supermarkets, but it doesn’t seem to be missing anything that the others have. The only complaint is that there doesn’t seem to be a clear, logical pattern to the way the food is arranged and nothing is ever where you think it should be. But on the plus side, when you have to hunt for something, you often discover things that you wouldn’t have noticed otherwise.
