I live 10 minutes from this chip shop and have always been satisfied with the quality of fish and the chips available in small or large chips. Quantity and price are good and so is the service. Fish is usually as far as I know fried to order so you get a nice piece of freshly fried fish while you wait unless you order over the phone which I think is possible. They do all the usual chippy deals including kebabs and chicken curry and chips all freshly produced in the chippy. Opening hours are good and the chippy is kept clean and respectable don’t usually have to queue for long worth a visit.

I can honestly say that the fish and chips in Five Star are the best I’ve ever had, and if I ever leave Cardiff I’ll be lost without them! The staff are all incredibly friendly and always ask how I am when I come in (always nice to be remembered). If you’re not a Fish and Chips addict like myself they also do the usual chip shop fare e.g. meat pies, battered sausage, kebabs etc… And if that’s not enough Five star also recently featured in an episode of Gavin and Stacey, and a photo of James Cordon and Ruth Jones (in costume) with the staff is proudly displayed on the wall. Taking all of that into consideration I really have no choice but to give Five Star, five stars!
