Fusion is, in many respects, similar to Wah on the neighbouring Albany Road. Like Wah, Fusion sells ladies fashion alongside its beauty therapy range. But there are some distinct differences. Whilst Wah concentrates on Western style clothing and offering a more affordable and comprehensive range of beauty treatments and hairdressing, Fusion restricts its offering to a more targeted market. Stocking Sarees, Shalwar Kameez and loose fabrics, this is a shop that will appeal to women from the Middle East and certain parts of Asia, namely India and Pakistan. Their beauty care range is neither as broad or affordable, choosing instead to offer Dermalogica products for the more discerning customer. They do however, offer unisex hairstyling, hair extensions, wigs and toupees and sun beds, although why the latter is necessary I have no idea! It is probably wise for Fusion to have diversified into the beauty care business, as there is stiff competition on City Road for the Saree market. With high profile stores such as Sanna Silk, and the long established Pirmahal Fashion within a two-minute walk, it pays to define their business a little differently and offer something that the others don’t.
