This is my favorite place for brunch. Lovely interior, friendly staff, chilled out atmosphere and the food is always tasty. Highly recommend the place if you’re in Cardiff, also it’s quite close to Roath park, which makes it ideal during the summer for lunch/dinner after a long walk in the park.

Used love coming here for food with friends. Was disappointed recently to find the cajun chicken burger was taken off the menu. So feeling hard done by I opted for another option with dessert in mind to make up for the loss. Again dessert I was looking for wasn’t in stock. This was a Sat at 6pm so was highly disappointed as wasn’t busy in there at this hour. On a note of the place in general, Monday quiz nights are brilliant, perfect place for date night but drinks menu is also limited. Juno is the best one I have been to out of the group and the beer garden is great on a sunny day

we went there last night, there was a large queue for service even though it was fairly quiet in there at about 18:30. staff behind counter are more concerned about fiddling with ice, bottles and looking trendy to actually engage with the potential customers and serve anyone. We left after one drink and had a meal in the trattoria around the corner

Not bad this place at all. Quite small but classy. great place to help me remember why i like Cardiff so much. Staff are friendly, atmosphere is tranquil and a great place to relax and watch the time roll by. Will be keen to come back on a friday or saturday night and see if it changes much

It annoys me how hit and miss the Juno Lounge can be, I’ve had disasters here which have made me walk out in disgust and then I’ve had top notch times here. I like the concept of the place, it’s got a community feel, the people that go there are a mixed group so no one feels like the odd one out, the menu is decent and so on. Their breakfasts are a favourite of mine and I tend to stick to them when I go despite them being a little too pricey for what you’re getting. The major, major problem with Juno Lounge is when it gets busy the whole system falls apart, which is what led me to walk out one time I visited. I went with my family, we sat upstairs, ordered food and drink downstairs. We waited and waited and waited. Turns out they forgot to order our food despite us having paid. Not good at all. Money was refunded and out we walked. Other times, like this morning, our food arrived impressively quickly but then again it was just before 10am and the it was quiet in there. The food is good, although as I said previously, I do tend to stick to their breakfasts. I can’t stand that they don’t have printed menus as I always feel like a plank having to look over people as they eat to see the menu, I can’t imagine it’s much fun for them either. The quality of the food can be hit or miss, today I had a breakfast muffin(fried egg, sausage pattie and bacon on a sliced and toasted English muffin) and my mother had Lounge Eggs. Both of our muffins clearly spent way too long under the grill on one side and we couldn’t even cut through them. I’d say this was lack of quality control as any self respecting chef wouldn’t let something blackened like that leave the kitchen, but ignoring that we both enjoyed our breakfast.

Finding baby friendly places to eat and drink have just become slightly more important of late, what with the arrival of Baby T and the subsequent diminishing of options for entertainment locally. I say locally, but to be fair, most venues in the area are good with babies. But I digress. Juno Lounge has long filled a need in Roath for somewhere to eat, somewhere to hang out, and somewhere to entertain friends and family without affecting solvency. The décor is quirky, the menu(lovingly chalked onto large blackboards around the place as is the style of the«lounges») decent if often unavailable due to lack of food, and there is a great selection of drinks on offer, from above average coffee, through great ginger beer and elderflower presse to single malts like Talisker. A word of caution here though, as the stout on tap is often bitter and tangy, indicating a lack of loyal stout drinkers and meaning the beer has time to go off in the pipes. Also in the plus column is the fact that food is served until late. My little family unit most often visits during the day time, to meet with friends and entertain parents and other children, and as such Juno Lounge has that little bit more to offer than a coffee house like the excellent Coffee #1 or one of the numerous cafes on Wellfield Road, and is still youthful enough that I might maintain the illusion that I’m not past 30 and my days of fun and frolics are not long past. It will remain to be seen whether the newly opened identikit Brains concept café /bar The Pear Tree will have any negative impact, but having eaten there once, I sincerely doubt it. Viva Juno!

I went on a date here once, so I have found it a bit hard to recall what it was like as was too busy thinking to myself ‘I don’t fancy him, I need to get away’ but here I go, I shall indeed try. Juno Lounge is somewhere that attracts a wide range of people, from your students through to your professional. I went here on an evening and remember it feeling so cosy and warm, the tables were candle lit, it was just beautiful. The drinks were moderately priced, I stuck to wine for most of the evening(date reasons included) and remember not being too shocked at what money I had to hand over. Now that I am writing this review, I would really like to go back to Juno lounge as I did like it and maybe the whole date fiasco has put me off. Situated out in the Roath area, somewhere I wish I went to a bit more, I think that Juno Lounge is somewhere you should give a try with it’s mood lit and relaxed atmosphere.

I’ve been a few times and both times I had a really good time. I’ve only been in the late afternoon/evening so haven’t checked out the breakfast fare. But I have tried the tapas menu which I thought was pretty good value for money. The food was reasonably portioned and really tasty. There’s always the fear with tapas, that they will be bit miniscule but there was definitely enough to share. The coffee is excellent here and there’s always a really good buzz about the place. It’s a bit like the Tardis as it can seat quite a lot of people comfortably. There’s a mix of tables, easy chairs and sofas and an upstairs area. There’s a really varied menu with lots of specials and I don’t think I’ve had the same things twice, which is a good sign. We shared a bottle of house wine which was reasonably priced. I could have stayed there all night which is as good as it gets really.

If I ever want to get something done, I go to Juno’s. Enlightening coffee. Check. Quiet places to sit with a laptop. Oh yes. Free wifi. Sorted! But it’s not the services, the prices, the drinks or the staff that make this place stand out. It’s the customers. This café is always full of friendly families, interesting groups of friends and important-looking types having fascinating discussions about arty sounding things. So, if you are like me and love a spot of people watching to keep you entertained as you work, this place is perfect. Juno also have a fantastic lunch deal where you can get a choice of their paninis and a mug of soup of £4.25. If you get in a little earlier, breakfasts here are a little on the expensive side but are works of art, looking more haute cuisine than greasy spoon. And, most importantly, Juno Lounge is a delightful place to sit and relax, to take your time and not feel pressured. This is a bar that reinvents and underlines the meaning of lounge. Now put your feet up. URBANCHALLENGE: Spend an afternoon reading a book from their downstairs book exchange

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Egg and Bacon Stack, people! There is no finer thing ever invented or to be invented. You see it’s egg, and it’s bacon, and it’s in some kind of tasty stack. Oh, and maple syrup. Cue Homer Simpson drooling. This lounge is a great place to come for a long and lazy brunch. There are plenty of free newspapers to grab on your way in and they have board games like Scrabble, Jenga and Rummikub. It’s a really relaxed atmosphere in the Juno Lounge where the staff are friendly and the food is really good. It’s not super cheap, but nor is it too pricey, I suppose that would make it some kind of a goldilocks price range. You could easily give over a whole Sunday to that place by grabbing your brunch and then playing a load of Jenga to build up your appetite for dinner. I know this to be true.

A lovely, quaint hide-away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre, this is the perfect place to waste away hours of evening catching up with old friends… Somewhere between a bar and a bistro café, Juno suits most tastes and has a great atmosphere and lovely, attentive staff. There’s something really nostalgic and romantic about Juno Lounge, maybe it’s the deep-red walls, rustic, wooden furniture, flowers, candles and broadsheets scattered here and there. They’ve gone to town on the food menu too, really delicious, quality ingredients, and a more than tempting tapas menu, the mozzarella balls are to die for, literally! They give it a nice touch by always adding a tasty extra freebie, last time was a generous portion of thickly sliced ciabatta bread. It usually attracts the 30 and 40 somethings, but you don’t feel unwelcome at any age, it’s really child friendly too. It’s got all the sophisticated factors minus the snobbery element, and students enjoy the hideaway too. The roof terrace is perfect for chilling out and soaking up the friendly atmosphere in the evening sun, and when it gets on the chilly side pop inside and enjoy the candle lit, cosy upstairs/downstairs rustic and romantic décor of the unique, sophisticated and easy– going Juno Lounge.

Burnt red walls and oversized black and white photos, chunky wooden furniture and scattered broadsheets, a plethora of high chairs and a box of board games. Welcome to Juno Lounge, a place that straddles the café /bar divide, resplendent in its nauseous faux-rustic aesthetic. Upon entering, the stench of smugness infiltrated my nostrils, the clientele, the beer selection(Staropramen, Hoegaarden, Bath Ales’ Darkside), the gigantic chalk board in substitute of a menu and located away from where you order food, and upon which«Brunch» appears as the largest section(which tells a story in itself), overwhelmed me. I haven’t eaten here but the portions seem large which you’d hope for if you’re paying £8 for a burger or a salad. The beer is on the pricey side, starting at £3 and rising to £4.25 for the Hoegaarden, so it’s probably best to stick to the cocktails of which there are plenty to choose from. Juno Lounge evidently knows its target market and is ideally situated to exploit it, but I’m clearly not what it’s aiming for. The only situation in which I can see me returning to it is if I have to entertain a mother-in-law(one which I didn’t particularly like).

This is a romantically decorated place to dine out in; with long, white candles, oak brown wood as the majority of the buildings craft, some comfy seats and lovely, richly filled bar. Friendly and hard working, younger looking staff serve you at the bar and clean up after you. I hadn’t spotted it as a place in Albany Road before; a popular local, regular, and a friendly used area. This place therefore then, fits the perfect bill to be situated on such a landmark. A casual, cosy, treat to stop into on your busy round of shopping, I had a Roasted Vegetable and Goats Cheese Panini and a passion and pineapple smoothie drink with ice. There is even a free jug of water on the bar surface area, to help yourself to, my dad would have been very impressed. The prices are pretty good as I paid just under £10 and I even received chips and salad for free. I recommend it for all adults and for couples in love.

I’m a massive fan of everything tht this little local ‘chain’ of cafes/bars has to offer. The Lounge Bars are a wonderful invention, and I look forward to them spreading all over in a Starbucks-like rash. Yay for expansion. Juno Lounge serves a wide range of food, cakes, tapas, coffee, beer and cocktails. In short, there really is something here for everyone. At night time the whole place is lit up with candles in a cosy and personable air, which is romantic, comfortable, classy and relaxed. One of my favourite things about this chain of cafes is the interior design. It’s completely to my taste; think old churchy interiors with cosy sofas, candles and chit chat-able tables. The food and drinks here are wonderful; slightly on the expensive side, perhaps, but I’ve always found that it’s worth every penny. A choice selection. Go and enjoy.

Juno Lounge is part of an ever-expanding chain that originated with the first Lounge in Bedminster in Bristol. Having lived in both Bristol and Cardiff, I have come to rely on these eminently well run and pleasant brassieres. The standards throughout all of the outlets are maintained, and the choice of building is always inspired. Although very different, stylistic considerations have a consistent theme, making the Lounges reliably comfortable, spacious, with lots of wood, and a homely, lived-in feel… always very welcoming! Juno is no exception. Yesterday I spent the best part of the morning whiling away the time with a Cardiff based singer, songwriter called Rachel Taylor-Beales, who I’ve had the great pleasure of working with on occasion. Not only is she profoundly talented, but she is also an incredibly lovely person… I feel privileged to call her a friend, and so couldn’t have been happier that she had time in her busy schedule to meet up. Living in Roath, it was her decision to meet at Juno. It would have been my first choice too! The sun was blazing, and the building, on two levels, has a great walled garden on the second floor. Like all of the Lounges, Juno does great coffee, fine brassiere style food, catering for breakfasts, lunches and evening meals. It also has a good selection of drinks, all served with a relaxed professionalism and courtesy that is the trademark of these places. And the best thing??? Nothing is ever rushed! You can camp out for the day, without even soliciting the merest sign of disapproval. There’s room enough for everyone. And yes, they have WiFi.

Juno is a chilled-out but popular place for a bite to eat and a drink, whether you fancy a coffee or something a bit stronger, and it has stylish décor, comfortable chairs, and a relaxed atmosphere. Set over three floors of a corner building, the kitchen is on the second floor with seating areas on the ground and first floor. Inside it doesn’t feel huge but there’s just about enough space for the tables they have, and on summer days everyone tends to gravitate towards the roof terrace upstairs(which can get a bit packed). The staff seem okay, and are vaguely friendly, but the service is a bit on the slow side when they’re busy. They just seem to be a bit over-stretched and under-staffed, but there’s probably not enough room for many more waiting staff. Still, it’s great to have an alternative place to go for an evening drink in this area other than a traditional pub(Juno is open from 9 in the morning right through to 11 at night), and in the winter all the candles make for quite a cosy atmosphere.

As a Whitchurch resident I’ve been really impressed by Fino lounge. Whether you’re after a coffee, cocktail, or bite to eat, it’s the perfect place to go, and has become a real fixture in Whitchurch Village. In many ways Juno Lounge is very much of the same thing. They offer an identical menu, however I will admit that the Panini I had here was slightly superior in taste to the ones I’ve had in Fino lounge. It’s not quite as big as Fino lounge, and is rather long, which might be the reason why I don’t find this place to be particularly cosy, and it appears that there is less of a community feel than you get in Whitchurch. I was also a little disappointed by the staff. The woman serving me was all well and nice, however when I asked for a tap water told me that I could help myself to the jug on the counter downstairs. I ended up not bothering as didn’t really fancy traipsing down the stairs, so I don’t think it would have been to much bother for her to have offered to fetch me glass herself. I really did like the old fashioned black and white photographs on the walls. They seemed to have been from around the 1920s-1930s and featured schoolchildren, businessmen, rugby teams etc… and I found them to be utterly fascinating, though it would have been nice to have had something indicating where they were from. A real prime feature of this particular lounge is its relatively large terrace with tables on the second floor. Regrettably it was pouring with rain the day I was there, however I imagine it could be absolutely heavenly on warm summer days. In my opinion partially due to it’s size and layout, I don’t find Juno Lounge to be as good as it’ sister in Whitchurch Village. It’s a perfectly nice coffee bar/restaurant/bar however I’d only really visit it again if I were in the area. One for the locals I think.

The first time I realised that this place serves from morning until night I was a little confused. My friends told me that it was a bar as well as a coffee house but I remained perplexed. Luckily, I got over it enough to go for the coffee(well, tea) aspect of it and I am mighty glad I did. Never having experienced the alcohol side of it I shall focus on the day time atmosphere. It was a little bit dark when I entered. There were big windows though so a seat near one of those was a must. It wasn’t too busy so there was plenty of room too. The service was excellent, really quite perfect and I felt valued as a customer. The prices are kind of as you’d expect — not super cheap but you pay for the nice environment, the comfy chairs, the excellent service, the lovely drinks. I don’t mind paying for that!

A decent enough bar, part of a ‘Lounge’ chain of bars in the area though it doesn’t have a chain feel to it. It can be a bit cramped when it’s busy and the layout is a bit awkward(I’d say the bar’s not in the most sensible place) but mostly the atmosphere’s very nice. The décor’s a bit unusual, in a good way– a strange selection of black & white comedy photos on the wall, and lots of loose cushions around the place to make the seating a bit more comfortable. The food menu looks good but the food itself is pretty plain, and overpriced for what you get. It’s worth looking at the specials board, as otherwise the normal menu doesn’t have much in the way of meals. There are some independently brewed beers on, which in principle I’m a fan of, but the beers on offer are watery and a bit tasteless, which is a shame. They’re some of the beers where the makers could’ve spent a little bit less time thinking of the funny name and a bit more time improving the beer Overall, not bad as a decent cosy bar, but not quite as good as it seems to think it is.

After passing on Westfield Road I have always had the curisosity to go in this place, it looked so charming from the outside! In fact it still is charming indoors as well. It was a nice surprise and not that expensive! It has two levels and a nice outdoor zone upstairs. You are spoiled for choices relating food, as a vegetarian I was more than happy eating a very good Gorgonzola and Roasted Veg pannini served with a good portion of salad! The only bad part of the experience was the slow service they provide, everything else was great, the decoration that is very rustic and cosy to the friendly staff. I would recommend this place. I begin to discover a bit more of the Roath area and really enjoying it. Edit: After had been there on a couple other occasions with different people I found that, although the food is still pretty good, they aren’t very organized and some food disappears it has happened ever since. someone asks for something and they forget about it it is a pity because this place is actually quite nice, tight but nice.
