my salon of choice. I enter bedraggled and in need of pampering, thats exactly what I always recieve. The salon is spacious, clean, modern and invitingThe staff are attentive, friendly and always of a cheerful disposition, engaging with me if I so wish, or quietly working around me if desired. I am always so well looked after, refreshments in abundance and service thats second to none. Great value for money as a returning customer I get to make use of promotional offers, these keep the price but not the service down. The ‘waterfall’ is my favourite feature, located near the washing station, its so soothing, and leaves me completely relaxed. Yes, people have a choice, but pebbles is so worth a visit. check it out for yourself, I am always so grateful to leave feeling ‘a million dollars’

I have been to Pebbles for a couple of years and always had great cuts and colours by both Mandy and Alice. people always comment and ask me where I got my hair done. I have short hair so the cut is really important. I would recommend them to anyone. good coffee too!

I’ve had several hair cuts and colours at Pebbles over the last 2 years with Mandy and Alice. I have short hair which needs a good cut to look good. I always leave feeling great and people in France and America have asked me where I got such a good cut. I have just been today before a wedding and feel really confident. I would recommend them to anyone.

If I’d written this review a few months ago it would have been a lot better, but I’ve just had a really awful customer experience at Pebbles and wanted to share it. I booked an appointment earlier this week for a dry trim. I arrived for the appointment on time, but I didn’t appear to have been booked in. Cue a brief apology? No, but they could fit me in, which was good news. I sat and waited patiently. The woman who appeared to be about to cut my hair stood in the centre of the shop gazing out of the front window. I don’t know what she was waiting for or staring at. Eventually she returned to finish the cut she had been doing when I arrived. The gentleman receiving this cut finally paid and left. Then the hairdresser continued to wander around the shop, eating biscuits, checking the phone, looking at products, nothing that seemed urgent. After waiting over 20mins I decided to leave. It was pretty frustrating being sat there without acknowledgement for so long. It wasn’t my fault they hadn’t booked my appointment and I would have expected better customer service. I left work early to attend the appointment and I just don’t have the time to sit around for an unspecified duration. So, I’ve written off Pebbles now.

I was hoping that there was already a decent picture up for Pebbles as the one I’ve taken is of the place with its shutters down… so it’s sod’s law that there is already an image up of the place that shows you what it looks like when it’s closed! I’ll still put mine up as it’s taken from a slightly different angle, and those shutters are really very nice!!! It will be interesting to see how Pebbles fairs now that there is some increased competition on this street in the form of Viva. This salon has a more affordable pricing structure, especially as they have some great introductory offers on at the moment. I would imagine that Pebbles will cope admirably under the increased pressure. They haven’t got all of their eggs in one basket and so even if the hairdressing side is mildly affected they have always got the beauty therapies to fall back on. Having said this, I’m not sure how much of a dent Viva will make. This is a popular and friendly salon that seems to have a loyal client base.

I didn’t manage to get a picture of this place while it was open so I’m afraid you can only see the sign and not the inside. You will have to trust me when I say that it’s nice inside! Having your hair put up, which is what I had done, was £25 — however, you do need to check before you just wander in because the price is actually a minimum of £25. I assume that if you have more hair it would be more. The prices in general, that I sneaked a peak at, are pretty good — about £25 for a cut and blow dry, They also offer make up services, as well as haircuts for men and children. For me, it was a perfectly good experience but it’s a little out of my way, like everything on Whitchurch Road, so I probably won’t go back again. I wasn’t THAT won over.
