A solid curry and friendly staff. We were staying in a hotel just around the corner and not wanting to really leave the room we decided to sneak a take-away in. Radhuny had some positive reviews on Unilocal and was just up the road so we popped in. They had just opened so we did have to wait 25 mins for our meal. The staff were really accommodating when we asked for a couple of empty containers and some plastic cutlery to eat out of in our hotel room. We had some chickpea sag, prawn special with nan and rice. Everything was really fresh and lovely and hot. I’m personally spoilt from eating some of the best curries in Southall so the food didn’t blow me away but saying that everything was yummy and if I ever stayed around that area again I would certiannly sneak a couple of Samosas from Radhuny into the hotel!

Radhuny is located at the newport road end of city rd and so is generally quieter curry house compared to further towards albany road. I am such a huge fan of this curry house from the starched white chair covers and table cloths to the excellent service, it’s hard to find a reason not to come back again and again and it’s location means there is parking down one of the side road that always available, unfortunately if you live nearer Albany road you will never have reason to try this place out and that a shame. For groups book ahead, the place is calming experience and every time I’ve been there I’ve totally enjoyed the food. I tend to go with lamb dishes and this place compares well to some of the restaurants down the bay for quality. All this place needs is a renovation to bring the front entrance into a more appealing light. There’s a 20% discount with an NUS card.

Over the last 10 years restaurants have come and gone on City Road at an alarming rate. The biggest losers seem to have been the Indian Curry houses which are facing a lot of competition for our custom. Perhaps this was inevitable as kebab houses, juice bars and pubs serving a wide range of food now vie for our pennies. I’m quite sad about this as there used to be a curry house on every corner and a lot of really good ones have closed or re-located. Some of the ones who are left have bee forced to offer food at rock bottom prices which has often affected the quality of the food and doesn’t bode well for their long term future. The one curry house that i would recommend on City Road at the moment is the Radhuny. As you go in people welcome you at the door into a sea of crisp, white starched table cloths on the many tables. The food is very good and very reasonably priced. I came here a few months ago with my brother on a Friday night and came a few weeks later for a family birthday. The staff were really good with the children and it felt very family friendly. There wasn’t an issue about having child’s portions either. I also had one of the best fish curries I have ever eaten.

Let me first start by saying that I am very surprised that nobody has reviewed this wonderful Indian restaurant. The Radhuny is an excellent restaurant that delivers excellent service and very tasty food. If you like a curry now and then, this is definitely the restaurant for you, it can get busy at times so if you are planning a night out in a big group then I would advise a booking. However, I have been going there for a long time now and I go there at least every 3 weeks and have never encountered a problem with finding a table. They do serve a variety of curries from the Korma to the Vindaloo. Whatever your preference is; they serve it. You can also order from a variety of starters. I personally recommend the mixed cocktail. You can add all the usual trimmings to go with your main meal like poppadums, naan bread, chips, rice etc. The staff service is very efficient and they are very friendly also. Drinks are also at a reasonable price ranging from soft drinks to draught beer and bottles of wine. The atmosphere is very calm so you can hold a conversation with your friends rather than shouting like in a loud restaurant. Overall, this is a lovely restaurant that serves high quality food and drink. It has a nice atmosphere and excellent service. To top it all off; they give you an after eight mint after your meal when you pay the bill. An after eight mint! That’s enough to make anybody visit again surely?
