This was until recently my favorite of all curry houses in the Kingdom of Kardiff… the tastiest curries I have ever had the privalge of eating… . The reason its not anymore my favorite(which has already been mentioned) is the portion size just kept getting smaller. The meat content was always an issue, as in very very small cubed chicken but the taste made up for it, stunning flavours. They have over tighten their belts to the point of no return(for us anyway). Each chicken dish = half a small chicken breast, just not good enough.

The food was great! I had the best tandori chicken i think i have ever had at a standard Indian restaurant(mint and mustard aside!). The chicken was moist and fresh unlike some of the offerings i have had in the passed. Very happy with the food quality. However, this establishment is terribly let down by the service. All i need to say is that we felt like a chore to the waiting staff. We were in the upstairs part of the restaurant on our own, and we were left unattended for around 20 mins at one point. Such a shame…

Sounds like I had the better experience when I went recently. I thought the staff were utterly delightful and spoilt myself and the lovely. As far as Indian food goes, it was one of my favourites in a long time. Portions are not fantastic but the taste made up for that in my eyes. Prices in that case were a little over the top for what you got, not massively expensive, just not right for what you get. It all sorts itself out to being an average dining experience.

I like people to pay me attention when I’m eating. I don’t want them leaning over me, obviously, trying to put my napkin on my lap for me and filling up my water glass every time I take a sip. But, at the same time, I would like to feel as though I am important to them as a customer. I didn’t really get this at the Bay Leaf, and for that I have taken off one star. The other star was lost because the food just isn’t up to the standard of some of the other restaurants around the area. There is a lot of competition after all. There is a nice relaxed atmosphere, to be fair, and I did enjoy my meal. But I have to weight it against others I’ve reviewed and it doesn’t quite match up, just. But almost. I’ll keep going back to check!

Easily the best Indian in the Llandaff area. Service can be somewhat hit and miss but I that seems to be standard for all Indian restaurants; they either pay too much attention to you or can’t be found. Food is of good quality. Nice atmosphere.
