Continuing with my tour of the UK, our last dinner ended up being at the Woodrow Wilson, part of the Wetherspoons chain. If you haven’t figured it out by now, Wetherspoons are known for their extensive menus, cheap prices, and liberal libations. This one was no different. The Woodrow Wilson was just down the street from our hotel and we took full advantage of not having to travel far for a decent meal. The place was packed as we walked in and our group had to split up in order to find a decent table. We joined a couple from our tour who had just ordered. My friend went to grab drinks from the bar as we waited for the waiter to stop by for our food order. I ordered the sweet potato, chickpea, and spinach curry since I didn’t want anything fried or meaty at this point. Nine days of English breakfast sausage will do that to you. My dining companion ordered the Buffalo wings and superfood pasta which looked pretty good as well. The food arrived in decent time considering how full the establishment was. The place was huge and bustling on a Saturday night. The service was fine. The food was decent. Great place to grab a meal if you can find a seat.

Nice pub situated near the railway station, which is very convenient. A very spacious pub, which have got several screens to keep up to date with the current sporting events. The staff are well presented and the service is very good. The menu is very good and there are lots of options as well as promotions, which is worth taking up if you want save yourself a few quid!

This is a large pub located half way down Botchergate next to the Vue Cinema and is a poular drinking place for all ages. As it is part of the Wetherspoons Chain you can expect to pay great prices for both food and drinks. There is lots of room in this pub and they have a beer garden out the back which is quite spacious too. You can eat here too and they serve good value meals. Look out for their special meal deals such as their curry nights. This pub has no music and it does get very busy although it seems that lots of people meet here at the beginning of the evening and then head off up the town about 10pm. It can be a struggle getting served when they are busy and it is sometimes three deep at the bar. Try and get a booth it is nice and cosy and you can watch the world go by.
