Best place in Bramhall. Great manager and a fantastic team who work here. Decent choice of drinks, which is rare for Chardonnay and Heineken swigging Bramhall and not too many divorcees which is also rare for Bramhall!

We booked in advance and like a good quality restaurant they called on the morning of our visit to confirm. We arrived and were shown to a table near a staircase, our view(like everybody’s) is the back of the noisy bar area. The ambiance is good and the staff seem friendly, The menu is priced fro £6−10 for starters and from £15-£22 for main courses. Wine was from £17 upwards. Our starters included rope mussels(fantastic) seared tuna(over cooked) ham & goats cheese focaccia(over cooked), when the plates were collected we explained this and given a «I will explain to chef» comment. Eventually after some 30 minute wait our mains arrived, 2 lamb & black pudding specials & lamb rump & gnocchi. The specials were so fatty and with so little overcooked meat, although the butternut squash was fantastic. The lamb rump I swear could have been brought back to life with enough care and consideration. Undercooked to this level is unacceptable, especially when you wait 30 minutes for the meals and then another 5 minutes after the other two meals are brought out. The irony of this was the burnt gnocchi! We ordered 3 sides of beans & Parmesan, chunky chips and spinach & tomatoes. The beans were fused into the solid cheese and the spinach was gritty. We never tried the chunky chips… We explained this to the waitress who brought over the lady who had seated us. She looked intensely at our food and then took them away. At this point we had decided what we had eaten(the raw lamb never recovered and was recooked) was very nice, and that they had got it close and it had been unfortunate, say 60% there. She returned to say that due to our experience we would have the chips removed and coffees on the house… We looked at each other stunned. We were not looking for free food or discounts but a realisation that the food served was way below standard and that a few coffees was in no way an adequate response, at this point they had not even deemed it serious enough too involve the manager. We did. He came over and kneeled down in true customer service manner, we explained and he shook his head, all of the while his senior waitress looming over his shoulder intent on hearing our every comment. She should have pulled up a chair it took some time to explain. The result of this was to remove the sides, and the two poor starters. Still no acceptance of the poor quality specials or the wounded lamb first served. We got our bill, we still managed to break a £100 for three mains, a starter and house wine. To add insult to injury as soon as we left they started talking about us, this I expected but they could of at least waited until we had left the restaurant.
