The Olde Swan’s biggest asset is its staff. An incredbly friendly team made me feel very welcome and the service was excellent throughout. I am torn by this place. The décor and atmosphere crosses over from pub to wine bar making it very cosy but then at times it felt like a sports pub with TVs pumping out the games from almost every corner. The food had the same identity crisis. Standard British fare was very good but if you stepped even slightly off the beaten track, while it was still good, you felt the chef’s abilities were already creaking at the edges. Having said that, I had a really good night at the Olde Swan, the food was OK, the locals friendly and I felt pampered by the staff
