You can’t really miss Chesham library. It is right on the main roundabout on the dual carriageway and you have to drive past it to get to Sainsbury’s.I can’t get used to this library. Nothing is where I expect to find it and it is small. There seem to be all sorts of arbitrary book selection tables and there are always more books on the ‘waiting to be put away ’ shelf than there should be. They don’t stamp books anymore. How daft is that? It is supposed to save time but in my view the number of queries they have from people who have lost their ‘date due back by’ receipt must take up all the time saved. Bring back the stamper!!! On the plus side, when my printer was broken I was able to look something up on the computers upstairs and print out what I needed. 10p for black and white, 50p for colour. Expensive but whenit is an emergency, well worth it. Please use your local library. We don’t want to lose them!
