Distinctly average.
The welcome was great but it went downhill from there. One of the members of staff looked like she wanted to kill me. The tea was made with water that wasn’t close to boiling. The breakfast was small and rather bland.
Nice surroundings and a solid basis for something much better — just lacks polish and attention to detail and imagination.

What a lovely little place tucked away on the rows in Northgate St.
I haven’t been to Chester for years but I shall return here when next in town.
Good service and great food.
