The Wee Bistro

For me this one is a low four star high three star kind of place. It’s definitely a bistro and as such the sandwich snack options are a pretty limited (Monday– Thursday). We went for a late lunch on a Saturday (3pm) and were presented with a dinner menu.
It ranges from Morrocan Salad (12) to steak (25). That means at these kind of prices it’s more on a par with Ian Brown than many of the other eateries in the area.
We just had main courses. Steak and Stag Ale Pie and the Morrocan Salad. In fairness, both things were pretty tasty and well executed, but it wasn’t extraordinary or indeed great value.
The staff were very friendly.
If you have two courses and a drink don’t expect much change out of £25 per person. And I suppose that’s where this place falls down. The set menu at competing Ian Brown would see you get three courses of a higher standard for a fraction of that price.
In short, a decent eatery if a little on the prices side for what you get.

Great little Bistro in Clarkston. Visited recently with a party of 6 including two young children. Co-​owner Sharon was only too happy to keep the kids catered for aswell as the adults. Amongst our choices were Filo parcels, Chicken Supreme and Steak pie which I would recommend. In fact I would say this is the best Steak pie in the area. The Bistro is definitely a cut above other moderately priced restaurants in the area. Recommended.
