Lovely place, very friendly and has a spotty dog called Derrick who’s also very friendly and quite a character. Has a great outdoors area for the kids which is enclosed so is very safe and it’s in a very picturesque setting, it does have a restaurant but I’ve not tried it yet but I soon will. I went there for a drink with a friend and was made to feel instantly welcome so I shall certainly be going back

Having set off to go swimming in Wilmslow, only for son and heir to fall asleep in the car, we ended up driving on to Biddulph Gardens(lovely) and were recommended the Egerton Arms for some dinner on the way home. It’s a proper pub/restaurant with a beer garden, proper English menu(I had lamb’s liver with mushrooms, the wife had braised steak in ale), proper drinks, proper clientele and proper staff who knew what they were doing. Junior even managed a peach and toffee sundae. A definite find if you’re driving along the A34 near Congleton.
