The Duke in Cottingham has just had a major refurbishment and has a new menu. The food is excellent and all freshly cooked, there is also ellie mai’s tea room which is open, 10am to 4pm Tuesday to Saturday which also serves speciality teas and coffees, meals, and sandwiches and high tea. All cakes and scones are freshly made on the premises, and are absolutely delicious. Lisa and John would like to welcome you.

I use the Duke every day and enjoy the beer, but I am bound to say that because I look after the cellar and do the line cleaning. As a customers side of the review i would like to say that I eat at the pub and the food is really good and very reasonably priced for the lite bites at 3 – 95., with a very good selection.

Very friendly staff, new décor is a big improvement and the menu includes all the usual suspects and for OAPs is a very bargainous affair. My Mum had a generous portion of Norfolk pie, spuds and vegetables with her very own gravy boat full of hot, tasty good stuff for just under three pounds. It is almost worth being old.

A very old pub sat in the heart of Cottingham Village Centre, the clients are almost as old as the pub and although on a weekend it gets busy, the majority of the visitors are in their 40s+. The staff are friendly with the exception of one young female who seems to chew her way through the shift. I hyave sampled food her before but not since the new menu so cant really comment on that aspect, To be honest there are better pubs in Cottingham for the younger generation.
