Our favorite local curry house, the food is always fab, the service is always outstanding, it’s nothing grand but as our local we feel blessed to have this restaurant close to home. I think between us we have tried almost everything on the menu and not once had a bad dish, sometimes the meat dishes(mutton) is a bit tougher than I’m used to it being, but usually it’s nice, the service is always faultless and we enjoy the free glass of Irish cream at the end of the meal, it’s clean, friendly and we always say«only how much ?» When the bill arrives, always very good value. £20 ish will cover 3 main dishes and a side and bread. We usually arrive about 6 ish as it’s almost certain that we will get the place to ourselves, it seems to get busy later. For us being 5 minute walk away it’s perfect, I’m not sure it’s worth driving a huge distance but if you live close by it’s well worth a visit. They also have real fabric tablecloths and napkins, I like that :-) You can bring your own bottle of wine, but they serve cobra beer which goes so well with the meal

I want to give Saliya four stars. Alas, they once kept me waiting for 30 minutes for my take-away order, even after I had ordered it over the phone. So they lose a star. On the plus side, they were really apologetic about screwing up and kept giving me free shots of Baileys. This experience taught me the not-at-all surprising lesson that Baileys doesn’t make a good apéritif for a chicken tikka masala. The food is really good. They always have my two favourite dishes on the menu: chana masala and saag paneer. I’ve noticed that lots of curry houses will only offer one or the other. I’ve eaten in the restaurant on a couple of occasions. It isn’t exactly a classy joint, but it does the job.
