This pub is perhaps not a diamond in the rough, more a cubic zircona. Regardless, I’ve always found it friendly, if not slightly menacing to start off with.
We went through a phase a few summers back of visiting their beer garden quite regularly. It had a weird petting zoo vibe, as they keep chickens and breed some sort of scary dog.
The bar is cheap but it only sells a predictable and limited range of gassy lagers and big brand spirits. Probably best not to order the wine here. They will look at you funny.
I like the dartboard and have had a few fun games with some of the locals. One of the guys had a tattoo ON HIS FACE, yet he was quite the charmer.
