DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel London Heathrow Airport

If only I could give it zero stars! The beds were awful! Very old, worn beds that were so soft my back is still aching! I only had breakfast there. The first day I was there I tried the full English breakfast. The black sausage tasted tinny, the eggs were hard and all of the food seemed to come out of a can (mushrooms) or was frozen (hash browns). Ventured out to a local restaurant, café restaurante moniz, right across the street. This was even worse.
If you enjoy the smell of raw sewage, this is the place for you. No matter what time we traveled, our olfactory senses were assaulted by human sewage. The area around the hotel had an unsavory population milling about and it appeared that most of the shops that had been there have long since closed. The travel into town was quite expensive, so any money you think you are saving is being misspent. Save yourself. The staff is polite, but it seems like everything is being done «on the cheap». Like others have said «it’s ok if you stay only one night».

Pros: Excellent staff. The staff were some of the best I experienced in the UK. The iron in our room did not work and they immediately brought us a new iron. Staff was very attentive and friendly but professional. Our reservation was wrong and they immediately took care of it for us. The hotel is close to the airport and the subway is just a few blocks away if you do not want to go all the way to the airport to catch the tube. They also have a shuttle service to the airport which is 5 lbs each way per person. (In the US the shuttles are free). The room was spotlessly clean. Cons: I expected better from a Hilton hotel. (Perhaps very small rooms are the norm in the UK). Our rooms were extremely small. They have no such thing as two beds in one room for a family like they do in the US. Instead they have «family rooms» and brought in the tiniest little fold out couch — more like a cot — for our adult son. It was very uncomfortable. The iron didn’t work. When they brought us a new iron and ironing board there was just about no place to put the ironing board because the room was so small. We had to sit on the bed to iron because of the location of the plugs. The food was only so-​so and the breakfast buffet was just awful. They seemed to have a hard time keeping enough coffee out for the morning diners. Dining room staff seemed stressed, over-​worked and under staffed. Also, the shuttle is a giant bus and it only runs every 45 minutes stopping at several other hotels on the way to the airport. OK so not the worst experience I have had at a hotel but I would not stay there again.

Was looking for a hilton class hotel near london and was willing to do the commute. This is more like comfort Inn class. The staff appears mostly of Indian descent which is only a problem because of the poor/​little interest in product. The breakfast is a horror. Fried bread? Real cheap fatty sausage, no bacon, rock hard eggs. Coffee is french press but they are disinclined to actually serve it. Two people were served one pot. Just one cup each. Asked for snother, and they were put out. Asked for one pot each and the request
was reduced to two tiny pots. I am used to hilton quality as I am a gold member and travel internationally quite often. I’m wondering if this is indeed one of the disgusting Patel hotels where quality is cut in favor of profit, every where. We overheard a manager say to an inquiry about breakfast: it pays for itself. Staff has little or zero command of English. No refrigerator or amenities In an honors level room, seriously???

Conveniently located near Heathrow Airport. Best way to get there is by Hoppa Bus H7 from Bus stop 17. Cost £5/​-​pp one way, ticket from to bus driver. No change given for big notes! Return either by Hoppa or Limosine £15/-.
Rooms are a little dated but breakfast is good with a decent range of hot food and fruit. Downside no in room fridge, but ironing board & iron and decent sized safe, coffee tea making facilities.
Close by is a Tesco for groceries, KFC and an assortment of fast food. Parking is available at £11 per day.
Generally the reception staff are pretty good. You get a cookie per stay.

The Hoppa Hotel took a while to get here (35 minutes) so it’s a shame there is no shuttle service directly to the hotel. After a long flight, I believed this «close to the airport» hotel would be faster to get to than 35 minutes. Once we finally arrived the room was quiet and comfortable, and the staff is quite lovely. But the location is not nearly as good as they would like you to believe. There are also no pubs or restaurants near the hotel nor a tube stop nearby. Overall a nice hotel that is quiet and clean but the location leaves plenty to be desired.

Terrible service, average food and freezing cold rooms. I’d never stay here again. So many options close to airport– no need to stay here.

Getting to and from the hotel was easy with the National Hotel Hoppa Shuttle (book round-​trip and you save money for that).
Check-​in was quick and easy. My reservation details were quickly reviewed. My room preference was asked and taken into consideration. Any questions I had (fitness center, dinner and breakfast times, wifi) were quickly and easily answered.
The room was a good size for anywhere near London and it was very clean. My only complaint was that housekeeping knocked the next morning at 9:30am, waking me up saying they were, «Checking to see if I had left yet.» I said I wasn’t leaving until check out time and then at 10:30 on the dot, they knocked again for the same thing… Slightly annoying.
The restaurant food was good, especially the risotto, and reasonably priced for eating at the hotel.

Location, location, location… the three most important words in the real estate market also rings true in the hotel market, the property’s location is the reason I selected the property to stay the night before my flight out of Heathrow. The other reason is that I sent a note to Hilton properties in the area and the Doubletree Heathrow was the only one that responded, thus I booked my stay, plus the warm cookie at check-​in helps too.
Located in in a working class neighborhood close to Heathrow Airport, there are no pubs or restaurants to dine and visit as in London. However, across the street is a Tesco Express (grocery store), café, Turkish Halal diner that serves lamb and chicken and a Polish grocery store that sells Polish beer and vodka (Tesco also has beer and other adult libations). I stopped by the Halal place, purchased a lamb doner and went to the Polish store for some beer.
From the outside, the property seems a bit dated, however it meets Hilton standards. The rooms are comes with a very comfortable bed with Hilton standard pillows and sheets and unlike a typical European hotel, there is an alarm clock and an iron and ironing board. Additionally, there is an electric pot where you can boil water for your morning tea.
As previously stated, I stayed for a night to be close to the airport — if you have business in downtown London, you may want to consider staying elsewhere. The bus and Tube rides from London takes some time, thus is not conducive for those having to work in London.
Close to the elevator is a kiosk for the Hopper — the shuttle service that picks up and drops you off at Heathrow. 5 British pound for a trip to Heathrow.
Affordable and close to airport — because I left early the next morning, I was unable to take advantage of property’s facilities.
For the location, purpose, price, and comfort, I would re-​book a stay at the Doubletree Heathrow.

Stayed at this Double Tree because of some interrupted travel plans and ended up staying for 2 nights. Was a decent hotel, very clean and the staff were very kind and courteous/​helpful. The room was comfortable and the bathroom was great with a really deep bathtub. The reason I give only 3 stars is because it lacked a fitness centre which I find are always nice in the other Double Trees that I have stayed at.
If you’re on the cheap side like I am then you’ll be glad to know that there is a Domino’s across the street as well as a Tesco Express but be advised there are no refridgerators in the rooms.

I’ve stayed here a few times. Hotel hoppa bus H7 for £5 from Heathrow. To get on the Piccadilly Tube Line take the Bus 222 to and from Hounslow West Tube station. Very comfortable, quiet rooms. Beds comfortable. Good air conditioning. Trouser press, iron, in room safe, bottle of water, free wifi, tea service. Room is clean and modern. Across the street there are a few shops and restaurants. Tesco Express, Dominos. Not the best, but something. Hotel restaurant has meals as well.

Simple, cute, and small. Expensive relative to the US side. Dinner and breakfast exceeded my expectation at the only restaurant in the hotel. People are nice.
Hall way can be cleaner.

I stayed here for 3 nights for work and overall it was ok. The only issue I had with this place was that there is no fitness center which is a total drag. Outside of that it was just fine rooms were clean bed was a bit soft but ok. So for me I will use this hotel for overnights at lhr the price is fair. A fitness center would give this place another star

This hotel definitely exceeded my expectations. Since we just needed something close to the airport before an early flight, we used Hotwire to get a deal and wound up at this Doubletree. The room was great — very clean, had a shower and bathtub, big bed, and free wifi. The reception staff handled all our requests at check-​in — arranged a cab to the airport for us (since we were leaving too early to use the Hotel Hoppa) and pointed us to a great pub for dinner.

A-​OK. Had to spend one nigh there before flying out to Chicago, so staying here was a practical choice and that is about all.

Nice hotel. Very convenient to Heathrow airport. Food decent. Rooms on the small side but comfortable and well equiped. Staff friendly and helpfull.

Not much to say. Average airport hotel. Nothing special at all…

Hotel de dépannage proche de l’aéroport de Heathrow. Il n’a rien de bien. Juste là pour dépanner. C’est un soi-​disant 4 étoiles mais il n’en vaut même pas deux. Si vous pouvez choisir un hôtel dans le coin, choisissez en un autre.

Let me start by saying I’ve given this 2 stars because it was a very nice hotel and a very comfortable room, but that’s where it stops. The rest was a catalogue of disasters from start to finish.
We arrived at the hotel at around 9.15pm having worked a full day and then travelled over from Kent. On arrival I went to check in and was told that the booking I had made did not cover parking. I explained that I booked it through the web site and tried it several times and each time got the same rate of £121.00 for the night including parking. The gentleman on the desk refused to accept this and said that I would have to pay for parking. I therefore asked to see the manager. The manager came over 10 minutes later and I explained the situation to him; he was fine and said that if it was what I booked, he would honour that.
We got to our room and were very happy with it. It was very comfortable and just what we needed bath and straight to bed for our early start.
We were woken at about 1.30am by the fire alarms sounding. We needed to evacuate the hotel. We all quickly got dressed and went downstairs, but my husband had left his jacket in the room and it was quite cold when we got downstairs. He mentioned it to the Fire Marshall hoping to be given something to wrap around him, but the FM said that he could return to his room to collect it! After about 25 minutes outside in the car park, tired, cold and fed up, we were allowed back into the hotel. One of the staff mentioned that steam from one of the bathrooms had set off the fire alarm which we felt was overly sensitive, but had noticed ourselves that the bathroom extractor was not working in our bathroom and it was quite steamy.
At 6.30am the fire alarms went off again and again we had to evacuate the room. We were just getting ready to go down for breakfast so fortunately were fully dressed on this occasion, but this was unacceptable. We waited outside for about 15 minutes on this occasion before being allowed back in. We went straight in for breakfast then but had to rush it as we had an early check in for a flight and our Hoppa Bus was due imminently.
On checking out, I was very angry to find that I had been charged £9 for parking overnight at the hotel. I queried this with the Receptionist who was again telling me that the parking was not covered and I would have to pay for each night. I told her what had happened the night before and she said she knew nothing about it and I would have to pay. I refused to do this and she then told me to hold on for one moment and she checked a book. She then said that the manager had written it in there that the parking was included. However, she still charged me the additional £9. I was in a rush and the bus was waiting so couldn’t argue this point.
