There are times when you want to see a film, but your local cinemas in Brighton just don’t cut it. Recent big film releases such as Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Batman VS SuperMan: Dawn of Justice, and most recently Marvel: Civil War deserve the IMAX treatment. For the uninitiated an IMAX screening consists of a HUGE screen which is several times the size of a standard cinema screen, and the surround system is beyond compare. If you see the right film the experience is simply stunning. My first IMAX experiences were at Odeon’s BFIIMAX at Waterloo, and that is incredible because it’s the biggest screen in Europe, but for a Brighton based lad it is a long way to go, and rather expensive to just see a film. Luckily Cineworld have an IMAX screen amongst their 14 theatres a mere 20 – 30 minute drive to the leisure park in Crawley. The car park is huge, but be warned you will be struggling to park during the weekend, or a bank holiday due to their also being a gym, bowling alley, and several big name restaurants within 30 seconds walk of each other. The cinema itself is very well designed, and always clean. The staff have always been polite, and the theatres have always been in great condition. The biggest draw is the IMAX, and the reasonably new 4DX screen, which is also an experience that us Brightonians do not have access to locally. In short if you want to experience the biggest blockbusters in a way that surpasses the conventional cinema experience then pop along to Crawley, and watch an IMAX film. They are a bit more expensive than a standard film, but are well worth it. The only drawback is that your normal cinema screen will look like a portable TV in comparison with the sound turned down!

This is my favourite cinema… Lots of different screens. They turned screen 4 into an imax recently. When it was built about 20 years ago it was the biggest screen in the UK I is still the biggest I’ve been to and usually travel to Crawley if there is an important or epic superhero film out… Since they ‘turned’ it into an imax screen(renamed it) the prices hiked up a little. But there are lots of seats and a big gap between the seats and the screen. Its epic that’s for sure.

Really good size, good choice of films BUT on a weekend evening car park is a bit of a nightmare. The cinema itself is always clean and tidy and the staff are very friendly. Extra points for the Starbucks and baskin Robbins onsite !

Lots of screens but set on on an industrial park out of town, it was quite when we left and we missed our bus by seconds as the bus stop wasn’t conveniently right outside and we had to leg it over a roundabout. We then had to wait another 30 minutes for another to come. Despite this great cinema showing lots of films and lots of places to eat outside.

found the sound excessively loud and the expensive seats were not all that.

This is a good cinema — very big, shows a wide variety of stuff, MASSIVE car park(arguably its best feature, not because it’s bad cinema but because I love car parks) and with lots of restaurants in the vicinity.

Definantly the best cinema in the area. The price is very competitive and the size of the cinema screen is definantly bigger than any of its competitors. The cinema boasts over 12 screens so there is never a shortage of films to choose from. They also offer an unlimited card where you pay £11.99 a month and get to watch as many movies as you want at any of the cineworld chains.
