This is a review for the café inside Selco!
Good food sold at very reasonable prices!
Every Monday to Friday they have a special menu which can consist of the following:
Chilli con carnie with jacket potato or rice
Lamb Donna kebab with chip, salad and pitta bread
Chicken pie with mash and vegetables
Chicken curry with rice
Lasagne with chips and salad
Steak and chips
Homemade burgers and chips
Chicken shish kebab with rice
Jerk chicken with rice
And many more
And prices range from £4.50 to 6.50, and even if you do not have the special of the day there is still loads to choose from.
The café is a family run business and the owner Hassan will make the effort to learn your name and the type of food you like if you are a regular customer. Then you have one of the sons who will do the main cooking and the other son preparing the food and serving and the wife preparing food and serving but she is a very good cook as she would be the chef for the most of the special meals. The rest of the staff are very friendly and helpful.
So what makes this place get 5 stars?
I know at the end of the day it’s like your typical fat boys café but the staff go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. The portion sizes are massive for the price you pay! The food is tasty and I would recommend the the chicken burger which is a very similar to a KFC burger but slightly better because it’s a bigger portion! You would get a portion of chips with these which I think their chips are the best chips By far in the area.
