This Museum of Croydon is very small but it’s rather interesting still. It is probably better for adults as there isn’t enough interaction or vibrant things for kids to look at or touch. It has quite a cool chronological order of London which can be viewed and it’s quite interesting to see things in order and learn more as well as pick up new information you didn’t know before! This museum can be found with the Clocktower, there are no signs that directly point it out but when you find the Clocktower then it’s pretty simple. An OK museum that has some cool points.

Skin Deep To say I’m a Museum Nut is like asking whether penguins like the cold. The fact that I have one right on my doorstep — the Museum of Croydon, is in my eyes, yet another gold star for living in Croydon. The Museum is currently headlined by Beyond Skin. This exhbition is part of Stories of the World, one of several community projects at the heart of the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad. The exhibition explores not just the artistry of tattoos, but seeks to challenge some of the myths behind tattoos. What motivates people to get them and their significance to those who have them. Everything is pulled together by a clever, engaging mix of stories and tattoo images. This is an unusual exhibition and for me was an unexpected pleasure, jam packed with information and some really beautiful images. If you like your exhibitions with an edge, then Beyond Skin is definitely one to see.
