I came here during a day out to Cwmbran and I’m overall pretty happy with my experiences at this Wetherspoons branch. Atmosphere: The John Fielding is normally usually crowded from all the hustle and bustle of Cwmbran shoppers. Coupled with the fact that the restaurant isn’t particularly spacious, it could get a bit cramped especially at peak hours. Keep this in mind if you’re looking for a more pleasant and relaxing atmosphere because this place definitely could get a bit hectic. Food: I ordered the Chili Con Carne which came at a decent price and also very tasty. Food at Wetherspoons usually is «you-get-what-you-pay-for» and you usually taste the lack of quality. However, thankfully this isn’t the case with The John Fielding. My Chili Con Carne was very yummy and the dollop of sour cream they had on the side was a perfect accompaniment as well. — Overall, I would say that the food is 4 stars quality. However, with the constant hectic atmosphere at this Wetherspoons regardless of time of day it makes the dining experience less than pleasurable.

Wetherspoons offers good value, very low cost food which includes burgers, lasagne, pies, desserts, starters, breakfasts, soft and alcoholic drinks. Popular for their offers and cheap prices, they regularly have special nights to promote certain goods. In Cwmbran they do a curry club on a Thursday and for Monday Club(on a Monday, a good selection of drinks are very. The pub in Cwmbran is quite dark, with marble table tops and has subtle purple neon effect lighting which feels a little like a bar more than a pub(this is good for Cwmbran as there are not very many places that are open late). One downside to Whetherspoons in general is that on a few occasions, the food I received did look and taste like it had been microwaved the quality was poor, but on the whole, not bad.
