Located on the A50/A38 junction this pub is eay to get to. It’s also a rare breed of pub in that it’s not part of a chain. The surroundings are clean and comfortable, and the menu is extensive enough to guarantee that you will find something you like. The children’s menu is separated into«traditional» and«adventurous» to try to steer children away from nuggets and burgers. There is also a carvery for those who want a good roast dinner. Although the place is large, service is quick and efficient and you don’t have t wait long for your meals to arrive. For those who like their desserts, there is a real treat in store: the cakes are HUGE! I’ve been twice now and I shall definitely be going back.

Eaten here a couple of times(carvery) but to be honest it’s not that good. The Mackworth Hotel is far better, a little more expensive but much better.

I have visited the Cherry Tree on various occassions with my Fiancé, and have always found the staff to be very helpful and polite. A really good meal can be had here for a very decent price(I recommened the carvery) and the puddings are that big, buy one and get two spoons to share!!!

Never had a bad meal here, we are regular visitors. Polite staff, clean and efficient service. Ignore the other review, they must have been having a bad day!(I don’t mean the pub)

After prior visits the Cherry Tree Farm Pub I had always found it to be ok, nothing more nothing less. Its a pub that does average food at an average price for average people, what more can I say? On my last visit to the Cherry Tree Farm 13th July 2010 I found the staff to be very rude, unhelpful and on a whole not very welcoming. The whole service had that«I dont want to be here» attitude from the staff and to be honest neither did I. Its a shame as this place could be excellent with a complete change of staff and decent people working there who want to be there and provide a good service. I always find these places a little off putting when the manageress is a young girl of 20 or so, not that age should have a bearing on such things… but I would certainly say that experience would be an advantage. Take my advice if you go to Derby Services instead of wasting your time at the Cherry Tree Farm, call in at the KFC that is also on site as you will get better service and half decent food. I would not recommend this place to anyone other than a coach load of hungry football fans who would eat anything.

excellent food, good carvery and pudding counter. great for taking young kids, as there is a parent supervised play area, interactive games for the kids and a quiz night for the adults.

Ok. It is part of a small chain, but thats not obvious. Standard menu, similar to a Brewer’s Fayre. They do a carvery as well though, which is good value. Not bad, and a million times better than the Extra services nearby.
