I’m sure this pub has seen more history than an HBO special, and like every other place that accepts tourists with open arms, there is something slightly international about the place. It could be all the flags in the ceiling or the large number of(mostly) american police badges behind the bar, but then grabbing a drink here on a weeknight does remind you that it’s fairly local. Filled with a few rowdy, middle-aged, and presumably local(drunk) irishmen, kept in check by a strong irishwoman behind the bar. So from a visitors point-of-view, if you have a night in town, it’s well worth the visit. Even if it’s just for a drink or two.

Toilets are filthy, always wet floors and broken glass everywhere! Not a safe venue! The joining bar next door is just as bad! I’m sure the management can do something about this before someone seriously hurts themselves! I know it won’t be me because I won’t be back!

There’s a trad session on every night here, can be quiet at times but usually gets a good crowd; many of the backpackers from the hostel just up the road or language students from the Foyle Language School are normally about, so theres a great mix of tourists and regulars. Excellent Guinness. Only one downside is to watch at kickin-out time as theres a good few pubs around the area and there can be the odd bit of trouble, but that said I’ve never had a bit of bother!

Great pub with great pints and music. Always a good one to go get a table and enjoy the night. One of the towns treasures.

I have only gave this 4 stars because of it size(just a little bit on the small size). Other than that it is a lovely and definetly a place to be when your looking for a bit of traditional irish drinking aswel as fun and lively entertainment in Derry /Lderry. The local crowd is very friendly and the music is really good. Many a different nationality has visisted this wee place and it always has had the thumbs up always packed to the brimbut in all fairness its a very enjoyable nite out. Go on you know you want to be there! LOL. I live in Derry myself and Peadars is very much respected. There is also good chippies for a wee munch afterwards. Talk to you later globalwon
