Fantastic boozer and bistro. Working up in dingwall last week and me and work mates decided to eat here. We found the staff and the establishment to be extremely friendly and welcoming and the food was out of this world. The mallard is one of these hidden gems in the north of Scotland that just needs to be discovered. If I’m in dingwall again il be sure to be returning. Thankyou mallard for a lovely experience.

The only half decent boozer in Dingwall. If only they had a couple of real ales available. Maybe they’ve tried it and it didn’t sell?

great boozer in dingwall. there is a big round bar that probably takes up too much space. there is football/​sports on TV most evenings as well as karaōke and live bands at weekends. it tends to get a bit quieter after 11 as there is a curfew for oscars.
i was totally surprised at the quality of the food. being a veggie i usually get a veggie fajita. it is fantastic food and looks freshly made rather than microwaved. we used to have a lunch from work every now and again. the biggest problem is that it takes an eternity between ordering and food coming out (half hour or so at lunchtime — this is just too long if you need to get back to work). other than that, this is a great boozer, full of the young and trendy folk of dingwall

The Mallard is located next to the train station in Dingwall. It is a good pub/​restaurant. There is a large selection of alcoholic and soft drinks and various nibbles. They do excellent meals for a reasonable price. There is lots of choice on the menu and I always find it difficult to decide what I want because of the good selection! The steaks are always cooked as ordered and come served on a sizzling platter. The portions are large and you certainly get value for money. There is often live entertainment at the Mallard especially on the weekend. They also show football matches and have tv screen throughout the place.
