My family and I went to frankies and bennys for my sisters 30th birthday, and I have to say the whole experience wasn’t very enjoyable. We had reserved a table as we were a big party, 10 in total, and we were placed on tables pushed together to make 1 really long table so it was hard to converse with each other without shouting. The restaurant was busy, with happy birthday being played every 10 minutes or so, which didn’t help with the fact we were all so far away from each other nobody could hear each other. When it came to ordering drinks I was refused a beer, as I looked too young, I was 26 years old with a big beard. I have not been ID’d for a long time and did not have it on me. Despite everyone declaring I was old enough I was still refused! This put a dampener on the party a little. When it came to the food, I am slightly picky and only like certain things, I asked for an fried egg which I had to pay an extortionate amount for, and when it arrived it was undercooked. I sent it back and got a replacement which also arrived undercooked. Needless to say I did not bother asking again and just left it. Some of the other members of the party had problems with their food too, ranging from meat not been cooked as specified, some of the food being cold, and it did not even all arrive at the same time! Some arrived 5⁄10 minutes after others! The waitress was young and in my opinion inexperienced, and they also put the tip on the bill which I found cheeky! When I got up for a cigarette I noticed outside in plain eyesight were rat traps all around the building, which put me off. Out of all of the restaurants I have been to, I have never had as much of a disappointing experience as I had at frankies and bennys!

We’ve gone to Frankie and Benny’s over the years when visiting Doncaster. It’s convenient and we don’t usually have to wait for a table. There is seating both inside and out. Service is pretty slow and getting our bill at the end was near impossible. I had to go find our waitress to pay. Our pizzas took a long time but were pretty good. The menu is quite large and there are several things to choose from. We also got some fries with cheese and bacon on them. They were very mediocre. The cheese was very low quality, if it was even cheese. The sticky toffee pudding dessert was pretty good, but not spectacular. It seems like«ok but not great» is the theme of my visits. Good and free WiFi. Clean restaurant. Decent but not great food.

Whilst working in Doncaster, I visited this American Italian restaurant for food glorious food. It was good. As it was half term, the restaurant was completely packed out and we had to wait 30 mins for a table for 4… So we promptly made our way to the bar and ordered cocktails. The cocktails were nice and well presented, however i prefer the cocktails at TGI friday’s. The food was good comfort food, but nothing to write home about. The Calzone was nice and my dessert of cinnamon waffle with ice cream was pleasant. The service was ok, but as they were extremely busy this was understandable. Our Waiter was very friendly and created a rapport with us to make us feel very welcome. Prices are good. £10.95 for 2 courses from the specials menu. Spoilt for choice on main menu. Good value for money. We had breakfast here too and was not disappointed. Al breakfasts £5, served from 9am to midday. I had triple pancake stack with bacon and syrup — very nice. the saltiness and sweet syrup complimented each other. Unlimited refills on coffee for £1.50. I recommend it.
