I was just driving through the area and stumbled upon the Abinger Hatch, and decided to drop in. It was a Saturday night and the restaurant was really busy with a lively atmosphere and lovely ambience. My wife and I were immediately greeted with a warm welcome as we entered, and the staff were most accommodating, despite us not having a reservation. We were found a cozy candle lit table in the corner and served with superb food. The presentation and quality was fantastic, so we have now booked a table to return for a Christmas dinner. We look forward to enjoying our next meal by the open fire in December.

Had a very nice pint of ale here, by the fire after a cold walk in the beautiful woods around this amiable pub in the North Downs. Good choice of cider. Friendly barkeep and locals, lovely old traditional building near the Mole Valley’s White Downs. Beamy with solid comfortable wooden tables, a maze of connecting levels and rooms. A good country pub for a pint and a crossword by a nice fire, did I mention the fire??, after a walk in the woods.
