Bostin Fittle

Visited Sunday 25^th August 2013, after a weekend away with my husband. A quiet, nice atmosphere with friendly bar staff. Would recommend, the only issue is that the bar closes at 11:00pm, which is a little early for a Saturday night.

been here today and never again. waited over 40 mins for 2 salads and 1 sandwich. when the food did arrive the sandich was just dry bread, ham and cheese, the lettuce on the salad was all brown, when complained, the reply was ‘we don’t do butter on sandwiches! and gave no reply about the lettuce. they did ask what i wantedi told them a proper sandwich and new
then took a further 10 mins before that came and no apologies from any member of staff. they weren’t even busy. it isn’t the first time that have had poor service, but went back to give them the benefit of the doubt. but never again and would never recommend to anyone

The only reason I dare venture into this pub is because it’s close to my head office and easy for meeting my friends. Like a previous reviewer, I was given a dirty glass with lipstick on it. When I pointed this out to the bar person, he put it back under the counter and gave me another glass, still just a mucky. Don’t even attempt to sit in the ‘comfy’ area to watch tv. The area is covered in the stench from the men’s toilets it’s enough to make you wretch! Even as I sat in the adult dining area, I experienced periods of urine stench catching me unawares. The food is mediocre and overpriced for what it is.

Rubbish place avoid at all costs. Most meals if not all are straight from the microwave. Beer selection is err lager or lager or cheap cider

i like this place the food and drink tastes great the price isnt too bad either. the service is good the staff are friendly its a clean posh place and its pretty big inside. what i like the most about it is they have a child soft play erea so if you want a peacfull night out from screaming kids i recommend you take the kids in the play erea lol overall another great family day out oh and i forgot to mention its also close by to all other ammenities

This was my first visit to bostin fittle and went mainly for the kids play area. The staff and the food were average, quite expense for what you actually got. My eldest who is 2.5 enjoyed the play area (briefly) but to be honest it was absolute chaos! There were far too many kids allowed on in my opinion, but I suppose it was a Sunday afternoon. One lad came out with a 3 gash on his head while we were there. It is an unusal setup with a separate play area and it was not really clear to us on arriving how it all worked e. g Was it a private party, did we have to pay? etc. They could certainly do with some signage! Ok experience but won’t be rushing back soon.

good menu for old and young alike. there is a heavier menu and ight bites. the wack warehouse joined on the side is gret fun for the kids. you can join them or view them well in th lower parts. they have parties and at only at £2.50 for an hour its great.

I have to repeat the comments on here as it was exactly what I was coming to write!
I used to love Bostin’ Fittle but then over night they had a refurb and the whole place just went downhill. The same rustic, family feel is there but the service is not.
When I ordered food before, it would come within twenty minutes. The last time I ordered there I waited for an hour with two very hungry, upset toddlers. I asked for some colouring (which they used to give you automatically) and was looked at like I was a beggar. When the food finally came I couldn’t believe the difference. The prices had been raised significantly but the meals had shrunk?! The food was awful, rock hard peas and cold chips.
I only visit for the Whacky Warehouse part now. They have excellent staff in there who are friendly and helpful.

Since the refurb of the Bostin Fittle, service and food has gone down significantly! I would not consider paying the prices (although they arent that expensive) for pub meals/​heat up meals which I can make far better at home.
The drink prices have also gone up slightly and the staff simply chuck the food at you with no motivation in the job.
There are alot better places to eat on the Castle Gate complex.
However there is a Wacky Warehouse there and amcdonalds next door — can be a fun cheap day out for the kids at least.

i love this place you can go there have a great tasting meal take the kids in the big play zone and relax it is a very cheap meal for all the family the play zone is cheap they also do childrens partys and there is plenty of parking

I used to like this pub, before the refurbushment. They used to have a good menu and good staff, but since the refurb its sort of gone down hill. The wait on food is quite long and the meals look a bit shaby. The drinks prices have increased since the refurb and the staff are unhelpful and scruffy looking.

This pub used to have very good value for money food, but since the menu changed a few months ago, the food has gone way down. Along with the service and the staff. I think it is very good for people with children as there is a large play area like a wacky warehouse, but it is not inviting for couples or families without children. Far too expensive for common food.
