Dundonald Omniplex

This cinema is an absolute beast. The prices are reasonable and now boasting the incredible Maxx screens, it just got a whole lot better. This used to be my fiancée and mines go to. Place every Friday for date night. Now having had twins it’s a once in a blue moon event. But any chance we would get, will definitely be here. Top notch.

Love this cinema! Free parking, reasonable prices, helpful well mannered staff. Every screen has extra comfy chairs and very spacious leg room, for the tall folk. Easy access and surrounded by amazing eateries. Recommend

Quite possibly the flashiest cinema in Belfast. Cleaner and more modern than the Odeon in VIctoria square. Cheaper o think also. Well that is except for the toilets. Lack of soap, broken locks on doors and toilet roll everywhere.
Seats area very comfy and angled in a way that you never get any tall person blocking your view. Love the red strip lights on the stairs.
It has also been recent redesigned and updated with an iMax complex.

This is a great cinema, if we’re ever up this way we make a point of visiting it. It is comfortable to sit and the screens and sound are very good, and it is very clean and well kept. The staff are friendly and efficient, and there is a nice range of food available if you want food or drink for your movie. The location is good as there are a load of restaurants and parking beside the cinema, and the ice bowl is nearby for anyone wanting to make a day of it. The films are listed outside the cinema on a digital display screen so it’s easy to see if there’s something to watch before even going in. Recommended.

I’m just back home from the cinema tonight, I went to see the film fury the movie was very good but the sound quality was okay tonight I noticed that there was a pop coming from the cinema speakers or a lead to the sound system was not right get it fixed. you would noticed it in the queue bits, the money we pay to listen and watch should be good or I will invest in a Bose system for the house and have my entertainment at home. A update on it is got it sorted they give me free tickets to see another film very nice people there and getting it sorted yeah

I know it’s expensive, and I know it doesn’t do Crazy Tuesdays /​Orange Wednesdays… but the Omniplex has received five stars for a reason. Well, multiple reasons.
I love that the film times are clearly displayed on the screen outside the doors, meaning you can sneak a glance at the starting time of a movie before heading off to eat in one of four restaurants in the Eastpoint complex (Gaze, Blue Chicago, Wolfes and Yermanos). Very handy.
Secondly, the layout of the cinema is brilliant. You go in, pay, and then go and fetch your sweets /​popcorn /​drinks etc. It works so much better that way! Furthermore, if a screen isn’t ready yet, there was seats, tables and stools outside each screen so you can wait. As if that wasn’t enough, there is a games room with air hockey and arcade style games… sweet!
The screens themselves are huge — we were in screen 7 and it was big enough. The red seats are lovely and comfy… none of this battling with those incredibly annoying flippy chairs (yes, that is the technical term). The film experience was incredibly enjoyable (Inception is a brilliant film… excuse the shameless plug), and it was generally a fab night.
The only downside is the price — £6 per ticket for an evening showing really did hurt. However, you are paying that little bit extra for a very, very good cinema. I reckon it’s worth it.

For me, this is probably the best cinema around.
This is the only fully Digital cinema in the whole of Ireland and the quality difference really does show. For example when recently watching Inception there a few weeks ago the chilised handsomeness of Leo was only amplified by the screens enhanced clarity!
The seats are comfortable and there are ample screens, so there is always a good variety of the best films on at regular times. There is also a wide range of sugary treats and the usual cinema food fare, with a Ben and Jerrys stand to lure in the ice cream lovers like me!
The staff are helpful and friendly as I discovered when they accidentally charged me twice for a recent cinema out. The only thing I could say is that they could make general tickets a bit cheaper but they are priced approximately the same as most cinema outlets so I cant moan much. With its close proximity to some delicious restaurants this omniplex is the standard bearer for a good evenings entertainment in the world of cinema!

Great new (relatively) cinema in East Belfast.
Nicely furnished and decorated with great comfortable seats. Always the full range of films shown and have a decent concessions counter with all the usual suspects. Staff I have encountered are friendly and seem happy to have your business.
If you fancy a trip to the cinema without heading into the centre of Belfast or beyond then give this place a go. You wouldn’t be disappointed.

Until quite recently Dundonald was very much an entertainment wilderness unless you wanted to go ice skating (cold and energetic) or to an indoor play area (noisy and a little smelly) so the Eastpoint complex has been a fabulous new addition to the area.
The Omniplex is part of this complex so you can make it part of a night out with the grown ups or a day out with the nippers as there are plenty of restaurants right on the doorstep. Well not literally on the doorstep as that would make it hard to actually get into the cinema.
Now I’m going to sound like a miserable old miser but the last time I took my 2 children to see a film, it happened to be showing in 3D so as well as the humiliation of having to wear a massive pair of cardboard glasses, I had to pay £20 for the three of us! So be warned, 3D showings are pretty darn pricey.
Claw back some of the cash you splash out on the 3D films by taking the kids to one of the recession busting £2 kids fims on Saturday and Sunday mornings.
Stock up on calories as you go in — pick and mix etc and Ben and Jerrys and you’re sorted.
