The place itself is really nice, it has a good atmosphere and we were able to get a table without having a reservation. Food was ok not terrible but definitely had better for cheaper. The service was very slow and there were a lot of mix ups with food, it seemed like the staff weren’t really paying attention to anything. Do not go if you are in a hurry.

Very disappointing the last two times I’ve been here. The first time we sat outside in the summer and it took them nearly an hour to bring out the water some of our group had asked for as soon as we arrived. This time round however it was our dissatisfaction with their interpretation of their own menu which really put the boot in. Ordered the heart stopper burger off the specials board which supposedly was a double patty burger with black pudding that came with«skin-on» fries. When the food arrived it was clear that they were absolutely SKINOFF and the waitress asked us «What else did we expect?». Then the burger quite obviously had 1 full size patty, one which was about 2⁄3 the size of the regular one(which was pretty small — smaller than the brioche bun, which was tiny), and next to zero black pudding, a quarter of a tomato and less than the end of a leaf of lettuce. Plus it was only just warm enough to not officially complain about. On the plus side the chorizo starter was delicious, but it’s pretty hard to get a pre-bought cured meat wrong. Additionally the mojito a friend ordered had zero rum in it. Used to come here fairly often, has definitely gone downhill in the last year. Won’t be coming back again.

Went to Tango again last week with my folks and my brother. We had an ace time. I can’t recommend this place enough. The Angry Popcorn Shrimp are crunchy, spicy, peppery and fat and the Jalapeño Poppers are crisp, hot and creamy. My brother polished off a bowl of Chorizo Snacks in super quick time. His only complaint was that they were served in a dog bowl. The Tomahawk steak I had for a main course this time was massive and had a comedy bone attached so I could eat it like a Flintstone. It was tender, veined with delicious fat and cooked perfectly rare. The garlic mushroom mashed potatoes on the side were just incredible. Especially when dipped into the deeply meaty gravy served in a little bowl on the side. Also around the table we had one of the salads with chicken breast and halloumi — a monster so large my brother couldn’t finish it, a Something Fishy pile of crisp and crunchy fishy products and a burger which my mum, who wouldn’t usually go for something super meaty, said was really excellent. «I’m really impressed with this place», she said. We sank a couple of margaritas and a mai tai, prepared in the proper way with no pineapple or grenadine, and a few double espressos over the course of the meal and left feeling full, happy and meaty. This place is in my top three restaurants in Durham.
