We tried a couple of curries from here last night(chicken bhoona and a lamb dish) along with veg pakora, poppadoms & spiced onions, rice and naan bread. It really was good and, at 12.50, a great price. Just moved to Bearsden so trying the places on offer one by one!

Great wee Indian take away with limited seats for dining in(think about 4).Staff very friendly and helpful with recommendations. The set meal is great value and the chicken tikka chasni is amazing! Very fresh pakora and the home made nann needs to be tasted to be believed!

Vegetable dumplings Kofta! Before anything else, I say try these! Before coming to Bearsden to try the new Dining in with… I had been to the Mother India in Glasgow and I can say the food and service in these branches is exceptional. The restaurant is very relaxed, while maintaining a very high standard in everything they do. As I said the vegetable dumplings kofta was fantastic, dumplings of cottage cheese and veg was a concept that I could never have dreamt up before never mind tasted. It was delicious in curry form, tastes I can’t quite describe. To go with this I had vegetable rice, which again was done to perfection, enriched with various vegetables. I was stuffed. The portions were a great size and even thought I was unfamiliar with a few of the dishes the staff were happy to explain and offer their recommendations. An overall great place to go and have a memorable evening.

I tell you what, that Bearsden is doing alright. Not only do they have a branch of curry connoisseurs The Ashoka on their doorstep, they are now lucky enough to be chosen as a location for the latest Dining In With Mother India delicatessen. That makes two, two of Glasgow’s curry kings who have decided to set up shop in the place where bears live. How lucky the Bearsden locals are. Freshly prepared on the premises using the same local ingredients found in the restaurants, Dining In With Mother India sells everything from herbs and spices to pre prepared chilled dishes. The deli also caters for dinner parties, even supplying the chafing dishes. I wonder why so many top restaurants are setting up home in this particular suburb? Could it be the amount of disposable cash the customers have available to spend on pakora and spiced onion? Shouldn’t these chains open branches in the areas that really could do with a good curry? Dining In With Mother India Drumchapel? The Ashoka Possilpark? What do you think?
