Abbey Sanctuary

You shouldn’t come here expecting a bookshop, because quite frankly it just isn’t one. Instead this place represents a mini Edinburgh and Scotland fact finding centre full of information (and I am willing to concede a few books) about both Edinburgh and Scotland.
Everything on offer has been specially picked out to be helpful, useful and also interesting and indeed I picked up a lovely little book on Scottish history being of the opinion that it was about time I stopped being an ignorant Englishman. The book itself is a delightful book with lots of illustrations (which is always nice) and promises to be a good read.
Such is the enthusiasm this place generates that it is capable of inspiring an Englishman to learn about Scotland, and as this is the case that it should easily be capable of inspiring anyone — a helpful and useful shop.
