Cleanse offers a number of different treatments for mind, body and soul. I’ve specifically visited for one particular treatment, the… cleansing of your internals. Y’know, um, colonic. Ok so, I have a gluten intolerance and at one point I’d eaten so much and my stomach and intestine was in such a state that any time I ate anything, even plain chicken or a banana, I was double over in pain. For months. I decided enough was enough. I was recommended Cleanse, and Pauline the lady who founded it, by one of my yoga teachers. Colonics are quite normal in the yoga /raw food /juice cleanse circles. And well, I really couldn’t recommend Pauline or Cleanse more highly. The clinic is small and compact, and very clean. Pauline is one of the loveliest people I have ever met, and really helps you feel at ease for what could possible be one of the most awkward hours of your life. The session will last an hour, and can be uncomfortable. But Pauline will either talk away, or stay quiet, depending on what helps you feel more comfortable. I’ve been for a few appointments since, and I can say that firstly, the treatments DO work. And secondly, I wouldn’t rather go anywhere else. I can imagine that a colonic, in the wrong hands, could be quite a horrific experience. But Pauline makes it as gentle and lovely as possible. She has many interesting stories to tell, ask her why she decided to set Cleanse up. And the fact that she ONLY drinks water(not even herbal tea) which would account for her wonderfully clear skin and beautiful hair. She really is an example of glowing health, which I suppose is testament to her treatements too. This sort of thing makes us Brits very embarased, but I know I’m not the only person in Edinburgh to have needed one of these treatments, to have returned for follow ups, and to have needed a recommendation and review when I first was looking for one. So there, my work here is done, helping the good people of Edinburgh with better health.
