I stumbled upon«Connect Café» one day and popped in for a nibble. I chose the Brie and Cranberry with salad Open Sandwich and just had to go for a Double Espresso as well. First up, the Espresso, rich, thick and Crema you’d need a shovel for. It had a nice and bitter edge(just enough, but, not too much Robusto). The Brie & Cranberry Open Sandwich could not have been more fresh. It oozed flavor and was totally more-ish. Another good thing was, it’s large size. The service was friendly and polite, all I could ask for. There is also a wide variety of gifts and cards too. Large windows let the light in and make one feel not shut in. Recommended.

I recently came to Connect Café feeling a bit rough from the night before and in need of a bit of tea and stodge to fill my belly. I hadn’t been here before as to be honest, the display of handbags and cards in the window made me think it was some kind of run down jumble café wannabe where the old biddies of Comely Bank would come for a blether. But, we needed sustinence in our bellies before embarking on four and a half hours of viewings, so we gave it a shot. Imagine my surprise when I walked in to a cute and well laid out café with red polkadot tablecloths and advertisements about tasty sounding hot chocolate flavours and fresh soup. Yes, it sells cards and handbags and various bits and pieces, but these things were overshadowed by the nice and relaxed feel of the place. We each ordered tea and a bacon roll and sat down to wait. We received our order within minutes and the bacon roll absolutely hit the spot. It had just the right amount of crispy bacon, and was on an incredibly soft tasty roll. I was so pleased to discover this place that I’m sure we’ll be back for some good basic morning grub again.
