Ahh the Starbucks of the U.K. How much more delicious your roast is than Starbucks! But how I do wish you offered cream instead of only milk, and also, how I wish you provided sweeteners other than regular sugar and sweet and low, but otherwise, don’t change a thing! Your prices are reasonable, and service quick and friendly. Some locations have bathroom code locks, but they print the code on the receipt if so, and apparently it stays the same so you don’t have to dig for your receipt if you’ve been there before. This one was nicely located near the Princes Street gardens, had a little patio out front, and tons of space for sitting inside. Their sandwiches are okay, but not amazing. Too much bread for me.

I’m a big Costa fan and this place is no exception to the standard you’d expect from Costa. The downside here is the access — with all the stairs it isn’t very friendly for those with mobility problems or pushchairs/prams. On the plus side, to get a window seat and snuggle into a brown leather sofa with a hot chocolate(with mashmallows and cream, of course!) and watch all the shoppers milling by down on the street below is a treat in itself. The staff are busy but friendly and the bathrooms are cleaned to a high standard and maintained throughout the day.

This is a good little place to get coffee, hot chocolate, food, etc. It is always very warm and cosy so is really nice to go in and get away from the rain. I used this place to meet up with my ex when he was meeting me after work as I worked across the road. The hot chocolate is really nice, and you can get it with mini marshmallows and whipped cream! Yum! I don’t like coffee but my ex said it is very good. The only problem here is the prices of things, it is very expensive. For a small hot chocolate I pay around £3 and it is quite small. The food(sandwiches etc) is really quite expensive too but it’s good for a treat now and then.
