Fryers Delight

Really disappointed with order firstly they forgot part of the order when I phoned they apologised and sent out missing order only to discover this still wasn’t right, upon phoning was met with a non apologetic but Rude response and asked if I was seriously wanting them to come out a third time (I wanted the order to be right first time). The whole order ended up being cold by the time it was corrected, the meal was overly greasy and fish had lots of bones in it. Waste of money! Would not recommend nor order again from them.

Fish suppers here are really hit or miss.
Sometimes they’re quite good– they’re always enormous, and when freshly made the batter is crispy and chips are decent.
Other times though they’re really not brilliant. I’ve had old (really fishy) fish, and most recently my fish had been sitting in the warmer for too long (surprising considering it was Friday night at around 8) which left it dry with thick soggy batter.
The price is very good considering the portion size but after my recent poor supper I was barely able to eat half of it so hardly worth the size.

Another vote for FD. Very busy local chip shop. It’s busy because it’s good. Large portions, fair prices. Cheerful and very efficient staff. As Hushy says, they will do you other meals besides the usual fish&chips fare — doner, pizza etc. and those are good, too.
The best we’ve been able to find in the south of Edinburgh (and we have tried a lot!)

Ordered a chicken and mushroom pizza which was nice enough and chicken pakora which was also nice but was disapointed by the salad which was just tomato, onion and a few bits of cabbage! Also the salad sauce tasted strange compared to others we’ve tried.
My boyfriend got a ½ pizza supper which arrived in a box but was stuck to the top of the box as there was no plastic paper on top so had to scrape off the topping!
But fast delivery and no hairs in the food! A just above average chippy.

This is a quality chip shop.
Their fish suppers are usually really lovely and you get a massive portion of fish.
The shop-​made pizzas are lovely and reasonably priced.
Delivery time is average as is the price. They also do good value kids meals (with a toy included!).
