Be careful if you go to this Greggs! I was ripped off by a underhanded, dishonest cashier in this store today. I gave her a 10 pound note which she took, she took a 5 pound note out of the draw, placed it on top of the cash draw, gave me only coins and then closed the draw. When I told her I gave her a 10 pound note she said I’d only given her a 5, opened the draw to show me the 5 pound note place on top saying, she does that all the time to keep track of what’s she’s given. It wasn’t until I was well down the Mile that I realized her slight of hand. Angry? Just a little bit, it’s not the money, it’s the blatant dishonesty! I’m writing to the corporate office next, but watch your wallet in this place!

I have encountered several Gregg’s locations in Edinburgh and this is one that I have frequented a few times in between classes. Overall, I would say that this little bakery is fine. It is a tad small for sitting in, like all Gregg’s locations. However, when I have stopped in they always had a portable heater by the window, so maybe the don’t have central heating at this location. Still, most people don’t sit in anyway so I suppose that isn’t a big deal. The food was fine, not quite as fresh as some other locations I have been to if I’m totally honest. The staff was busy, but pleasant. The lobby was a bit dirty, which is always a put off if you are sitting in while waiting for classes. I have no major complaints about this location though, this is an average Gregg’s to me that I may visit in the future.
